US Vanity Fair September 2008 : Carla Bruni by Annie Leibovitz

Once again, as I said in another thread... the fashion magazine industry is trying to make it seem like fashion is more than just clothes but can be related to politics and subjects that are seen as more... serious. I like the cover, I just don't think this was the right time to put it out there. Maybe a few months before/later, not the SEPTEMBER issue.

need to go get my copy!

Although Vanity Fair does include some fashion related article every month it isn't a fashion magazine... it is a magazine about culture & politics... IMO the choice of putting Carla Bruni-Sarkozy on the cover for the September issue was perfect as it gets more media exposure for this issue... which in turn equals more sales... which makes advertisers happy. Fashion isn't just about fashion... it is very much related to politics... economics & culture... and reflects the temperment of our times.

In my copy (I subscribe in Canada), the picture of the girls in Prada is split and used in the table of contents. Although the only picture is of Stephanie and Claudia, the rest are cut out. Where is this picture located in the copy that the scan is from? There are two more pictures of the other 4 girls in Lanvin and Louis Vuitton. Does anybody happen to have scans of this shot? I can snap them if anybody wants to see.

that Selinger shot of Lindsay was pretty much the first time i looked at her in a different light. the "oh la la.... interesting"-light.

and YES! THOSE are the Supermodels.

could someone please scan and post the whole supermodel article?

:flower:

I got my copy yesterday, and the Prada spread was printed in full, together with a couple of other pics of the girls in Dior and Michael Kors.

In the British version I have 2 more supermodel pix... however... adverts are completely different from US version and Kate, etc by Baily are not featured...

Yes, the ads in the UK version are always completely different - usually fewer of them too.
