Is it that designers released dumbed-down "sportswear" collections during this decade that diluted their brand? ie the "Easy Does It!" editorial is pretty indicative of the department-store offerings during this time.
The 80s fur advertorials/multi-page ad spread also have a limited shelf-life in my view. The furs were never cut in a way that were fashion-forward.
Or is it that models were less chameleon-like in this decade? For instance, the Kelly Lebrock editorial here in 1980 is largely identical to her look in 1986 - when she did her pantene "don't hate me because i'm beautiful" commercials.
