Thanks for the look Cosette - I'm quite addicted to old Vogues myself - it started a few years ago and now I have far too many of them . I also love the way they used illustrations. Also, the editors at Vogue were much less pretentious at that time, I think. Sometimes there are quite hilarious drawings of their takes on the trends in the mag - quite relaxed, amusing, charming and with that blissful lack of pretention.

I had some karma & it has been dispensed

My mom didn't take Vogue & I was more focused on Seventeen back in the day so I don't know the Vogue of this era ... but what you describe is so charming I may have to find some

PS The self-importance of today's Vogue is often breathtaking ... I just subscribed & still can't believe I did it But I am probably spending more on a few issues a year than I will on the subscription. Plus they're sending me a horrid free purse that I will have to find a way to dispose of
