Hi all,

I figure we can start other similar threads for other countries and regions, but I am going on a road trip across the United States to drive my boyfriend, who has lived on the opposite coast from me for the past two years, home - finally home

We're going from the Los Angeles area through the southern belt of states until we hit the east coast, and then we're driving up the east coast to NYC.

I want a good playlist of songs that are relevant to all the states we drive through and I thought it'd be fun to start a list of songs for each US state.

Example:

California
Joni Mitchell - California
Phantom Planet - California
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California
Rufus Wainwright - California
Hem - Not California

etc. The song title doesn't have to say the state name, I just did a quick search in my iTunes for examples ... if you can think of songs that mention a state or evoke the feeling of a state but don't explicitly mention the state name, please feel free to list them!

I'm hoping others here will enjoy something like this too. :flower:

I was in orange county the other day and played jeff buckley.. even though jeff's music isn't quintessentially californian or anything remotely close (jeff's from orange).. I thought Mojo Pin fit the mood just beautifully. I might even love Orange.:p
so that's one recommendation. I have quite a few for the midwest.. but so little time right now. :ninja:

Love Jeff, and love Mojo Pin, but I've never associated it with California ... oh well, it's going on my playlist and I'll be sure to play it in OC in honor of you, Mullet, and I'll see if it fits the mood! Thanks! :flower:
