born 1946 in munich as ursula obermaier, uschi started her modelling career in 1967 after she'd taken part in a local beauty contest and run second. she quickly became very popular with the 1960's in crowd in munich and soon found herself being the it girl of the party scene.
in 1969 she met rainer langhans, one of the key activists in the german left wing student movement. uschi and rainer moved in with the notorious kommune eins in berlin, they talked freely about their love and relationship and were often interviewed by the media. both became symbols of the so called sexual revolution in europe throughout the 1960s. as opposed to rainer, uschi did not take part in the political activities of the kommune eins, but, for most germans, became the " beautiful face of student revolution" (stern magazine).
uschi was one of the first groupies in europe, and definitely the most glamorous one. she starred in a couple of films, became germany's best paid fashion model throughout the 1970s, and had affairs with mick jagger, keith richards, and jimi hendrix.
in 1973, uschi fell in love with the love of her life: rich, macho, and super eccentric dieter bockhorn, the owner of a nightclub in hamburg's red-light district. they traveled the world in a customized bus. in 1984, bockhorn died in a motorcycle accident in mexico.
today, uschi lives in topanga canyon, los angeles, and works as a jewellery designer. imho, she is the most gorgeous 60 year old the world ever knew!
I know so little about her. I actually thought that Dieter Bockhorn and Rainer Langhans were one and the same.
