Valentino Resort 2023 Milan

There's a lot more looks from the original lookbook that didn't make the Vogue Runway cut which is such a shame and I don't understand why they were omitted because most of what is missing is is the best part of the collection. Whoever did the final edit has a very weak eye IMO. They need to get someone else pronto!

This is one of the missing looks for example:

REBECCA CORBIN-MURRAY

I like the logo mania pieces which is rare and the gold ones as well. I feel like the printed chain silk dress. is disastrous though.

This collection is completely a mess. I know it's a pre-collection but at least have some cohesion. This look like a weird mixture of Versace, Gucci, and Valentino.

I find their new monogram so obnoxious, and the more they push the more I hate it. You'll look like a ridiculous fashion victim in them, especially in that shade of pink.
The chain prints look dated.
Same with the book tote bag, he's like 4 years too late. He needs to find a better accessories designer because none of his solo offerings has been a hit.
And get a stronger stylist, because messy styling is not doing this collection any favors.

Look 29 red dress is probably the most Valentino thing in this collection.

The good stuff starts with the oversized white caftan shirt dress! From there to the end, it’s perfect!
My ultimate favorite is the oversized white shirt with the embroidered gold skirt! So fabulous and desirable!

PPP tried to hard to be hip but he is at his best when he does the jetset and Couture. The collection is polluted by those logos…
I think the foulards prints are actually strong. Maybe they should push more of that and seasonal prints than logos.

His color palette is getting stale, especially when incorporated into pieces inspired by his couture collections. You need to move on from 2018, Pierpaolo.

My issue with his work is the all in the mix approach in all his collections. From Couture to RTW, he just throws everything. And it’s so weird to have him doing the Couture from 2018 at a time where his Couture doesn’t have the same impact.
More than the color palette, it’s really his work that is getting stale. But at the same time, when it’s beautiful (at times) we cannot complain!
