Woman to Woman: Valeria Dmitrienko in Tokion

Newest Tokion wasn’t out in Paris when we checked at the bookshop as Valeria didn’t show up in the issue we had in hands. If it sounds a bit disappointing so far, we were still lucky enough to find her editorial among our mails a few days later and discover her latest piece of work, by photographer Cass Bird and styled by JJ Farrer. A real piece of Valeria featuring the real Valeria, one of the most interesting model of today.
We started following every step she did on catwalks worldwide after seeing some of her older polaroids and what caught our attention first was her kind of beauty. Both close to classic and meeting some less usual standards, showing all over the season she can work out various collection’s themes and designer’s aesthetics.
It translates well into some precious editorial abilities: an unforgettable yet very versatile face. And attitude. From French Revue de Modes last fall to a cowgirl-inspired story by Nadir in most recent Flair, she’s proving how powerful is her potential with every new picture. Including her latest from Tokion. Last but not least, the title is just perfect. Woman to Woman. The very best way to capture a striking woman from… Women Management.
