I love Vanessa, BUT I think the fact that she is so reminiscent of Jerry Hall will keep her from being an icon. She's also the lesser version of the two, not just because Jerry came before her, but because she's more girlish and sweet looking, while Jerry was more womanly and intense.

I agree, nobody ever can predict the future. [Look at the first page of Stam's first thread on tFS most people hated her.]

BUT, the doppelganger thing (Axente to Hall), was more my argument. Though I guess Cindy Crawford and Gia could be the counter-argument. But in this day in age where models are so quickly disposed of for the next big thing, the next look, I am hesitant to believe Vanessa will reach icon status. I just think this is Vanessa's hot moment.

I can't ever imagine her fading away, I just don't know why, she has a spark to her, something about her attitude/body/face speaks volumes, she knows how to pose, she is extremely versatile etc. Even if she stops modeling, I feel like it's because she will have moved on to another stage in her life rather than just not getting booked. She has too much potential and she already has clients lined up at the door waiting for her to walk their shows.

I agree with you. She does have something about her that is different, but in a good way. She catches peoples attention with her simple but refined looks. I think she could become HUGE, if she would just walk in Milan Fashion Week for goodness sakes! And not another Prada exclusive!!! Her first exclusive when she opened was amazing, then her second exclusive was well done but by the third... I want to see her at shows like Versace, Fendi, and Roberto Cavalli! Come one Vanessa!

As much as I agree that a Prada exclusive would be awful, I missed her walking the show even as a non-exclusive. She suited the collection to a T.
Hopefully we will see her everywhere in Paris!

Phew, glad she was obviously an option for the cat but just couldn't make it because she skipped Milan, I thinks skip rather than another prada exclusive will put Milanese casting directors on the edge of their seats for her, hopefully she can star in the campaign once more

I completely forgot that Nicolas is no longer at the house! Hopefully it will happen, I would love Vanessa to be the face of such a talked about/long awaited show and campaign.

She will probably be a city exclusive, this type of exclusive only pertains to Paris, so she could easily be a semi-exclusive for Balenciaga, that being the reason why she skipped Milan, to spend time with the designer (Alexander Wang) and keep her runway appearances quiet until that show.
