Vanity Fair 25th Anniversary Issue October 2008 : Marilyn Monroe by Bert Stern

I've seen this issue instores, and the cover is amazing

I was narked because there was a tiny nick in the spine of the issue I bought, it's terrible when something so small stops you from appreciating the bigger issue.

I loved the cover retrospective, all the bitchy ones from the 80's with Jerry Hall and Joan Collins, and the classic ones we all remember.

^^There is a cover retrospective inside? :woot: Oh god i cant wait to get it even more now.

Aye, it's 11 pgs of covers, with a little bit of commentary at the start and beside some of the shot, but mostly the format is around 15 images per page, in various sizes, selected from issues over the years, with the date underneath each one used, so they speak for themselves. Some of the shots are small, but to see so many all together is still great.

They have that cover shot of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy from Sep 99, which in the UK was replaced by David & Victoria, I think.

The article about Marilyn is touching and crazy, all of these people trying to get their hands on her precious goods and selling them, etc. juicy story and sometimes confusing but good. The Follieri story is also juicy i am not finished with it, but its sad from when it started till the last sentence i read.
