No...they are doing a video this season, although I was hoping it would be a bit more interesting than that.

the video is such a turn off. I couldn't even watch half of it, I'll wait for photos.

I think it's just a preview of the collection since Shalom is modeling all of it... pretty sure they're having a show.

WAIT. Nevermind, you may be right...? I looked at the Paris schedule and V&R isn't listed.

I don't hate the video...the clothes are just not good...

I thought this was supposed to inspired by "Funny Face"....there was nothing even remotely Audrey/ 50's couture/ Parisian about the collection...AT ALL.

i only like the printed silk t-shirts, a few of the shoes and one skirt. v&r really don't do much for me usually.

Yep..Vogue China said they didn't have a "real" show...only a live show on the Internet...

I'm disappointed. With the collection and the way they showed it.

Its one thing to forgo a traditional fashion show like they did when they did their russian doll collection, the presentation made sense. This one doesn't seem to it's just Shalom over and over and over again. maybe I am missing something

They took the Peruvian influences of Givenchy HC Fall 2008 and put them into maximalist overdrive. Garish, cartoonish, unappealing. The whole point of V&R is to challenge people with extremes, but there's no concepts here at all. It feels like a misguided attempt at commerciality.

Hmm the video idea is kind of interesting... But I like the old fashion idea of having a fashion show... I hope showing collections in videos doesn't become the 'thing' to do in the future..

I'm not a fan of Shalom or her walk... so I'm not super excited about this. The collection is nice though.

Perhaps it's a way to cut cost - the shows are really expensive to stage. I think it's one of V&R's better shows - they got rid of the childish "ironies" and attempt some wit, and they stick to what they do best, embellishment. I'm glad the cliches of bows, tux and white shirts have been shelved for now - some of the layered constructed pieces are nice, though not so much the pleated wheels....

im gonna assume they cant afford a runway show...

edi: ^ said it before me...

It's a shame they are not doing a runway show because this collection was pretty amazing. I really loves the shoes, jewelry and those tights.

Call me crazy, but I kind of like the video itself. It's funny, but in a good way.

The collection was a bit off, though like Zazie said it's nice to see them do something different for a change. I just would've liked some consistency, and consistency shouldn't be too hard to achieve when you're doing half the amount of looks that most designers do. If anything, doing less makes it harder to show range.

I don't understand, did Shalom do the entire show by herself? WTH?
