Hey everyone!
I think I have a problem I have managed since my adulthood, but I don't think I can cope this time. I love shoes and admire them on other people's leg. But if I buy one, I'll wear it only once just for the sake of the occasion I got it. Then I gift it out and wait for another big occasion to buy another shoe. Shoes make me feel uncomfortable, I can't even drive putting on shoes(I remove it in the car and put it back at my destination lol).

Now I got involved in a career that demands I dress cooperate frequently, how do I deal with this?
I am sorry if this is not the best board for this, I am new.

you wear sneakers, etc, without big problem. but you don't like wearing leather soled leather upper shoes when you live - walk, drive, run, or play the drums ??

If you've become used to the comfort of wearing trainers, perhaps buy any formal shoes (potentially a half-size bigger than your usual size) and fill the space with padded insoles.

And if your job doesn't dictate that you have to wear high heels as part of any corporate 'uniform', send up a prayer of thanks to the deity of your choice.

You find the least objectionable shoe that you deem appropriate and work on getting comfortable wearing them all day. If it's a sensory thing, narrow down what bothers you about formal shoes as specifically as you can, so you know what do avoid (too little cushioning, scent/feel of leather, split soles, etc).

What does wearing a half-size bigger than my usual size and filling the space with pad do for me? Will it give me a kind of comfort?

as you know, they are supposed to be comfortable, broken in. I'd say, at least more comfortable than classic converse. but if you have to skip the initial months, there are shoes object-dyed. those shoes might look rock-hard, but feel as soft as newbalance, *to exaggerate a bit*.
of course, depends on how broad-minded your industry could be though.
