I know it's slightly off topic but in the last twelve months, I've increasingly noticed how Italian high fashion magazines seemed a lot more classy in the 90s than their USA counterparts. I cannot put my finger on what it is. Maybe it's the layouts or the lighting in the photos.

When it comes to vintage, the USA seemed better during the 1980s. Just my opinion. It's all perception, I guess.
