Spring blossomed a little ahead of schedule at Vionnet, where creative director Goga Ashkenazi designed a resort collection focused on a fresh color palette inspired by nature. The house’s signature plissé gave dynamic appeal to a range of pieces, including a feminine two-tone soft leather dress with a plunging V-neck, as well as a ladylike column skirt cut in a three-quarter length.
Ashkenazi chose the iris an emblematic flower and used it in watercolor-inspired shades on a flared plissé midi skirt, as an intarsia on a luxurious cropped mink fur jacket and on a leather top matched with a lace skirt. While the lineup’s overall silhouettes were lean and elongated, the designer also delivered a range of fluid, sophisticated maxidresses, including a deep green draped silk gown and a layered fishnet style embellished with flower applications crafted from plastic designed to mimic porcelain.
