Visionaire 61 : Larger than life

Explain this to me, why is Lady Gaga on the cover of Visionaire? How is she a visionaire, unless I'm missing something. People will find any possible means of putting her on the cover of just about anything.

What are the contents of this issue?

The content sounds fantastic.

well after all that fuzz and keeping the cover secret.... then they just put lady gaga who's been on EVERY SINGLE MAGAZINE cover in the last 2 years.... that's underwhelming. You'd expect they did something very ground-breaking / surprising / innovative for such an important issue.

i guess they put her on the cover so people like her fans would actually buy this,
also on visionaireworld.com i read that some of the contributors are Steven Meisel, Mario Sorrenti, Steven Klein, Bruce Weber, Karl Lagerfeld and Ridley Scott..

am i the only one who can't open Flashbang's attachments? or the pics are that small?
.

I feel Visionaire has run out of concepts. A 4'x3' "magazine" is just silly. Although the contributors are interesting, until I see-- Gaga... and Formichetti. Then I lose interest. And seeing the cover with her, and I simply don't care anymore.

I like my high fashion to be otherworldly, inspiring and expensive-- not gimmicky, kitschy, messy, campy, rehashed and cheap. Maybe that's part of her appeal to some people.

this is why i hate visionaire...the magazine looks like coco chanel, a nazi sleeper who acts in a highend luxury way. gross.

Linda's picture is just stunning!

Lady Gaga... JUST GO AWAY! you're too ugly to look at! honestly!

Linda hasn't aged one minute! That's just crazy.

^It's from the 90's, an outtake from the Alberta Ferrati campaign.

Maybe it's just me but I find it utterly ridiculous. It's pretentious, pointless and where do you even store this? How is it going to age? Definitely not interested in that.

^ Right? I mean, where the hell i'm gonna put this in my house? Even if it was someone more interesting than Gaga, it's not worth the time and the money.

Very unimaginative of Visionaire, I must say. Gaga on the cover of the larger than life issue, styled by Formichetti (who else), with so many more interesting people to choose?
As if her ego wasn't big enough...

I see no point in this...the whole thing is just a lame gimmick (and it looks like it would be a real pain to flip through by yourself).

I like Lady Gaga but this is too much...

I won't be surprised if she starting to appear on fashion campaigns by next year.

Bingo. I think the point of this issue is the exclusiveness of it. I mean, I don't think many people would spend over a 1,000 dollars on a magazine (and also just because it's the largest published issue ever). The price of this issue is off putting. It's rather ridiculous. I don't know, if I were a magazine publisher/editor I'd want to make sure my magazine sold to as many people as possible, not limit how many people will buy it. I'd want more people would know about the magazine and it's content. Besides, isn't the point of the printed word suppose to be informing the reader? How can they inform many people if hardly anyone can buy this issue of Visionaire? Also, Lady Gaga? Really? I don't mind her but she's not that exclusive. You'd think they wouldn't go with someone so... mainstream.

Actually I don't think they make any money with Visionaire in general, because I've read several times that V magazine is the moneymaker.
