Vogue Australia June 2025 : Lila Moss by Dario Catellani

I just knew this could would get dragged, and rightly so. Personally, I have never minded Lila Moss but even I find myself struggling to defend such an awkward and deeply unflattering cover. How a so-called professional could approve this is beyond comprehension…

Trying to be Moss but she’ll never have that effortless presence This would’ve worked so much better with a young Moss or a model with high cheekbones.

They running out of themes so they did ‘The Horrible Issue’?
Thats the only explanation for this

When I look into the cover I see elements that appeal to me: the red masthead, the eyelashes, the beautiful necklace, and feather dress. The angle of the shot is different and makes it look off. However, I like her innocence.

Perhaps she isn't trying to be anyone but herself. I am sure she knows that she is not Kate Moss.

I feel like all the energy people gets to bash the Hadid and others should actually be directed to Miss Moss.
I’m not against nepotism but at least, give it some effort.

I haven’t seen anything memorable from her since she started modelling. And she is maybe the only Nepo-model on that case.

This might be one of the better photos she's taken, I fear.

Disappointed but not surprised that Vogue Australia is back on their b*llsh*t so quickly after one decent cover.

I would argue that Amelia, Nicole Kidman's daughter or Christy Turlington's daughter (who is basically Ed Burns' mini me) are far worse than Lila but at least Amelia so desperately wants to be taken seriously as a model that, by fully copying the look and personality of specific models, she's managed to get somewhere, and the other two don't really do any print work.

I get the impression that Lila is not fully convinced about modeling but is also in an environment where blue-chip modeling gigs provide status among friends and she's landed that with no effort whatsoever from day one so she really doesn't need to do or learn much despite looking rather pedestrian. I also think she's a little reserved (you don't really see any excess of selfies in her social media) so that, plus no height, zero striking features, landing things so easy.. it's all working against her. Not even the best photographers, makeup artists or art directors have managed to extract anything out of her and these people can work miracles (they can even elevate random football players and socialites).
