Vogue Brazil 'Digital Edition' June/July 2024 : Maya Massafera by Caia Marvento Ramalho

Yesterday Maya was angry with Vogue, they promised the official cover and gave her the digital one, she will probably be on the official cover for June-July.

It's like a softer approach to Margot Robbie's US Vogue cover last year. I can't wait to see the other cover if they're planning to release it.

Its only digital, at least until now

Honestly i dont believe that, its not like theres no contract
And they said that they are removing even the editorial from the physical copy

"We regret that a project as special as this, the result of extensive negotiation and which resulted in such beautiful images and such an important story by Maya Massafera, resonated with noise, shifting the focus from its essence.
Vogue has never negotiated a printed cover with Maya and we are very proud of the material that was produced and published, with respect and sensitivity to the moment in which she lives.
In respect of the desire expressed by Maya in her posts, the editorial made with it it was excluded from the printed edition.
We continue to follow and support Maya's trajectory and ask let everyone do the same."

Posted on Vogue Brazil´s Instagram Stories yesterday.

What's the context of this drama for people who aren't Brazilian? Because it all sounds more pathetic than Vouge France's groveling apology to Meisel. Oh no, not a DIGITAL cover. 🤣😂

Maya recently come out as trans (before the transition she was a celebrity-youtuber personality, has famous friends etc), so Vogue posted on thursday the cover, as digital, like they do with some interviews that are inside the issue.
So out of the blue, yesterday, she posted stories bashing the publication, that she just accepted because she was gonna be in the cover, bla bla bla, used the transphopic card, accused the mag of racism, etc
After a while vogue posted the stories above, and now they are removing even the editorial from the physical copy. As a result, the public is bashing her because of the pretentiousness and inflated ego (she was like this always, even before the transition).

Came to my mind the same cover. I like the idea of celebrating pride on the cover of Vogue. Most of the readers worldwide are LGBTQ+, so it's a tribute also to the non female reader that build this magazine reputation over its history. Wish Anna Wintour was brave enough (not brave, but more actual) to put a subject from the group we belong. We are still waiting to that RuPaul cover, someone that brought fashion to the public in general.

i remember her as her previous self as a stylist a long time ago...after that i lost the track on her....so i didnt know she transitioned...

besides of that, the cover is lazy...even for digital....

According from what i've read she apologizes to Vogue and "authorize" them to use her image...cringe...

Her attitude was so disrespectful to all the team involved - makeup artists, photographer (who's also a trans woman), fashion editor, art director - since that platform is also theirs... And then she posted the cover AND the making-of lol.

Too much ego...ego blindsided her....and then she thought it well...but it's too late...
also im sure ego thought VB change and will her the actual cover but she never thought that VB was goign to take off the spread from the issue...thats a big humiliation

What is going on in the world of Vogue in 2024, where one edition can't be bothered to differentiate between Steven Meisel and Steven Klein, and another edition's print issue gets delayed because they have to remove all trace of someone dressed as a giant haemorrhoid?

Vogue Global, it's great.

Brazil can do better than this, especially for Pride month.
That pink looks cheap.
