She looks quite adorable on the cover - like a water nymph, and for once I can deal with this short cut. Odd how Chen Man always shoots only the January cover of Vogue.

Is she the first tv actress on Vogue China?

I don't know who she is but I do like the colours. Feels very appropriate for January.

Harper's Bazaar called and they want their mock cover back. Thanks.

This is a very pretty cover and I love the colours!

She looks really pretty here and very nice use of colors. I actually love the 3rd shot Chen took of her the most.

What a nice start of the covers of Vogue China, is just stunning.

This is terrible. Doesn’t look like this belongs in Vogue at all. Too saccharin— way too annoyingly cutesy, wide-eyed girly-ness. Belongs on the billboard at the local mall peddling juvenile fast-fashion.

beautiful cover, don't know her but i don't live in china so  is she wearing burberry?

OMG, but this is SO TERRIBLE AND CORNY!!! Beyoooond cheap.

 Well, you know, sometimes we need to look at context. Sun Li is currently starring in an immensely popular tv series in China, so she's got fans to please. Most of them not particularly interested in fashion, so this cover needs appeal to a broad audience (or in your words....'the lowest common denominator',). I can let that slide, you see. Angelica Cheung is no different to Anna Wintour, I suppose.

^ How do you know so much about Chinese celebs?

This cover almost puts me to sleep..

My father is based in Hong Kong, so I spend a fair share of my holidays over there. Celebrity culture in China & HK is really on another level, when you stay there for long stretches it's almost impossible to be oblivious of them.

But this is still Vogue— not some insipid InStyle crap that does unapologetically cater to the lowest common denominator, Benny baby. Shouldn’t there be a line that ought never be crossed…? I mean, even department-store Anna won’t put a celebrity on her cover with that type of late-90s rainbows-and butterflies aesthetic. You know, I still see women wearing bootcut jeans, but does that mean it should be featured on the cover of Vogue…?

I’ve always hated that brand of cutesy, innocent, I’m-35-but-I’m-selling-myself-as-a-14-yo-sweetthing that Hong Kong celebrities seem to always push. And that attitude gets sucked up by the herd of commoners so there are countless women acting and dressing like they’re still a tween. Just expected a tad more from Vogue China.

Possibly one of the worst Vogue China covers i have ever seen, really cheap!
