Vogue France March 2022 : Laetitia Casta by Carlijn Jacobs

Wow! That's a stunning photo. I don't mind the huge blurb since Laetitia looks gorgeous in it.

I wish her head was more relaxed, looking by side to the red flag.

Timeless indeed. But it's sad that I couldn't care less about it, knowing how utterly depressing the magazine has become content-wise. Since Emmanuelle left the covers have mostly been fine, but the editorials are unbearable. Like a twin sister to Vogue Netherlands or whichever pathetic edition filled to the brim with the worst reprints. It's funny how we used to complain about Alt's tacky covers despite her delivering sublime content every month, but now it's the exact opposite. Sad times. I've lost my interest.

She's pretty and she's sexy . We know It since 95 ... Anything else?

I love it. Very memorable and impactful. I will pick this up, my first VF issue since Imaan. Everything just work, the photo, the layout and of course Laëtitia (can't believe it's been 10 years since her last cover).

Since the name change, I was waiting for something more. Kudos to the whole team, especially Carlijn.

It's a surprise, it's a very good cover, strong and fierce, which resonates with actuality.

After last month's atrocity... I'm embracing this gladly. This cover has a very 90s vibe to it, nothing groundbreaking to see here, but I adore Laetitia. I have high hopes for the editorial!

At first glance it’s great, but the more I look at it the more strange it looks. Looks like they rotated the image but it’s making her tilt look awkward. Very eye catching though and laetitia looks great.

It’s eye catching but I can’t get past the political aspect of such a magazine.
Since Liya Kebede on 2002, which was a subtle political act, this is the first time since I get that feeling from a Vogue Paris/France.

It’s very patriotic, Presidential elections are coming and « Libre » is a strong statement. But I don’t know how I should receive this cover…Beyond the visual aspect. Laëtitia was a Marianne but still…

I feel sorry for Carlijn Jacobs when I see this mess as I usually like (or even love) her work. I've never been fond of Laetitia Casta's modeling and this new piece won't help.

Then... Vogue France's blurb on Instagram is just lame... Using the current situation to promote their crap is beyond distasteful.

I adore Laetitia, but there's something that I don't like about this. The proportions maybe? I wish it were cropped right above her knees and that she were more in profile facing the red cloth. I'm sure there will be better images inside, but this feels a bit rushed. I wonder how quickly this was put together.

Yeah, I think we are at a point where people have learnt to normalise this "activism" that simultaneously advertises a product. They make fun of Kendall's Pepsi ad but in reality, practice the exact same by applauding or feeling relief over this type of posts, like PHEW, thank god you denounced as you announced your new issue coming soon to my nearby kiosk!! so important!!

And don't get me started on the 'I know it looks like it's ALL about France and Laetitia looking hot but by that, what I mean is that it's really against the invasion of Ukraine and not about me at all', so instagram ..

I wonder if the Editor is loved by France and the brands

Yeah, I'm sorry, but I really think the blurb is distasteful. There's a lot to unpack there.

I'm tentatively curious about the contents, but I'm not hopeful.
