Vogue France September 2022 : Kate Moss by Carlijn Jacobs

The shot of Kate's head growing out of the grass is hideously bad. So bad, it's good. Might beat Sarah Jessica Parker's HB 2015 cover of the "secret alien imposter living inside my body" as the best photo in that 'so bad it's good' territory for me .

Those images of flowers are more interesting to look at than any other editorial image... pity. Looks like I won't be spending money on Vogue France this month after all.

She looks like Pennywise in that shot of her head growing out of the earth…

Terrible editorial. If you’re gonna have ONE original editorial for the most important issue of the year, at least make it look like it took some effort.

(Big stretch) but I only enjoy the shot of her in that Loewe dress.

Her attempts at doing Irving Penn flowers are pretty laughable. Even though they’re better than the Kate images, they still barely suffice because of how half-arsed they are.

I’m curious to see how this further pans out for European Vogues though because it feels Edward is really trying to be bit of a Diana Vreeland like editor. But you can’t push for creative freedom when everyone else in the business (Edward included) can’t really be bothered giving full financial flexibility or trust to do such things. Shall wait for when he gives yet another “up and coming photographer” the task of spoofing Avedon’s ‘Great Fur Caravan’

Reading through this, I see there's an ad for the next issue, which is out 27th September, and will come with a free lip balm. Ah, I remember the days of constant free tat with nearly every issue of UK Glamour or Marie Claire.

As has already been said, the issue is full of reprints, and the way the selected imagery flows is garish, there's no sophistication on show, or any change in mood from high to low, it's just a constant feeling of Vogue shouting at you about how MODERN it is, nearly everything seems plastic or harsh.

is it just me or does vogue france sound somewhat provintial? like a supplement to air france magazine.

this kate moss story is hopeless. poor thing!

it is wild that they had that topless picture of her laying down in the flowers or the one in the black scarf and still chose what they chose for the cover

never seen such an hideous story; first pic looks she has no neck, and the pic with her head on the ground omg... there is nothing about Kate vibe here I see a washed out gwyneth paltrow
