Vogue Germany April 2023 : Lea Schüller by Delali Ayivi

Maybe rethink keeping this magazine alive, how about that? Honestly if Vogue Germany would close there would be very few who would miss the magazine. I'm not even sure if it has an impact (cultural, financial, or otherwise) within Germany the same way US and UK do.

German Vogue is the thinking woman's magazine, don't you know. One cannot be glamorous or stylish or fashionable and think at the same time, it's simply not possible.

Bright colours for the cover of Spanish Vogue? Don't let me down.

No doubt about the color scheme. The actual photograph, however.

Make it stop!!!

At least they're aware of what they need to do --- RETHINK.

However, time to put it into action. Its been almost a decade late now.

Wow, just when I thought that Vogue France's latest cover was shamefully bad Vogue Germany proves me wrong. Is Condé Nast trying to make a world contest of the worst cover? Seems so...

What on earth happened to this publication. I recently went through my Vogue Germany magazines from 10 years ago and the downgrade is actually astonishing. The “Smile Issue” is still one of my favourites to revisit. Can’t say the same thing about whatever they’ve been releasing these past few years. Everything is just bad and forgettable with zero signs of improvement.

I imagine the VG team sitting at a table thinking they are pushing the envelope with their cover star choices of local talent that you wouldn't normally expect on the cover of a any magazine.

I support the idea to give a succesful female football player a platform since their male colleagues are everywhere but can't they put in an effort? More Vogue, less Zeit Magazin? What is she wearing? Does she even want to be there? Because she looks like a child that has not been picked up after school. Who gave her the football to make sure we understand who this could be? Re-discover style and life? Can we just close this edition

More Vogue, less Zeit Magazin?

I didn't even know she was a football player! Looking at it again, I now see how literal and really cheesy the entire concept came together. It's actually so embarrassing. You'd expect such brainstorming from a mainstream ad campaign, not a high fashion magazine.
Over the past few years, I've noticed magazines across the globe copying American Vogue's idea of giving covers to subjects beyond models and celebrities. First ladies, politicians, athletes....but they all seem to forget the very important part that made those covers a success. US Vogue made it fashion first, especially for covers. The cheesy references are best left for editorials. I don't recall seeing Marion Jones running on a track on the cover, or Serena Williams sitting on a massive tennis ball.
