Vogue Germany March 2023 : Nina Hoss by Greg Williams

Are they serious????

She's a great actress and deserved so much better than this zero effort cover. I still think about her performance in Phoenix from time to time.

I dont mind it, glad to see her on Vogue. Always though that she looked like someone that might have been a model in their earlier years on Jack Ryan.

she's 5'11" so definitely. Great actress though, I think acting generally gives people far more liberty and creativity than modelling (no offense to models, I love them).

There's definitely some Conde Nast hack going on because the digital issue has been out since last weekend.

The cover reminds me very much of the Alexandra Shulman era - safe. And Nina is way overdue should have gotten a cover way back during Anynomya, but she didn't deserve this as her very first Vogue cover. When a Schlager singer had the honour of being photographed by Lindbergh? :ninja: Outrageous.
There are some lovely images of her inside though.

I love that, so true! Luckily Nina had the honors to work with Peter before his death and their pictures are much more powerful than those you mentioned.

I was ready to defend her as a cover subject but I am pleasantry surprised to see people agreeing she is deserving of a cover (if they absolutely have to have celebrities as cover subjects which seems to be the case for German Vogue nowadays).

This looks like it could have been a great cover. Her almost smile breaks the serious styling which feels a bit confusing in this vacation-like setting? I am not familiar with the photographer but I am curious to see more of Nina.

Edit: a sneaky peek at their instagram already tells me that the inside pictures are awful..

This is no different from all the other photos Greg Williams posts on his IG...

LOL. More of an editorial opener than a cover.

Vogue Germany Digital Edition

The cover itself doesn't offend me as much as previous months, but it's quite clear this is just an extension of Vogue's global Hollywood portfolio with appeared in most February issues. Vogue Germany getting the short straw, as per usual.

that lazy short editorial..she deserves better...

I prefer VG under Arp than this mix and match thing...

Flicking through it online, its 228 pgs. There are some original editorial features at the front, but there are also reprinted articles, including the Viv Westwood tribute, and the Ralph Lauren interview/edit from UK Vogue.

Main editorial section opens with UK Vogue reprints - the Pavarotti edit with Grace Coddington, the Seoul edit, then the cover story, followed by a reprint of the Hollywood portfolio, then the Tatjiana Patitz tribute, but back to UK Vogue reprints with the David Sims story, the Adut story, and the Kendall story, followed by a US Vogue reprint of the Art Gallery story.
