Vogue Italia February 2011 : Candice Swanepoel by Steven Meisel

Everyone talks about the bad, trashy stiling but that's the main point of the cover imo, I got it like this... I don't know...

EXACTLY!!! I don't care for the gaudy gold jewelry but it gives it that old school 90s feel like she came out of the movie Grease.
I really like this, even though I knew it was going to get a lot of flak because of the obvious
I wonder if she'll get a huge main editorial too

I actually quite like it. I get a strong Amber Valetta vibe from this cover.

Reminiscent of the styling in an old 90s Meisel ed with Christina Kruse & Joe McKenna...it's good. I'm interested to see what Carylne will bring to this issue (as much as I love Karl's work it's good to have a change).

I believe the Emma Summerton/Edward Enninful shoot with the top black models should finally be in this issue...I mean they shot it way back in October .

God I really wanted to like this, but it's lackluster for me. I don't think Candice was utilized to her best extent, but I hope this does lead to a trend towards pretty girls on VI.

I really like it, Candice looks amazing and i love the old-school vibe. And don't get why people have against VS models, they're just like any other model in the business!

I like that the first images of the February issue actually come out on february 1st.

Definitely an unexpected cover and for that reason I like it, I also think its fun and striking and im definitely getting the Amber Valleta vibe from it:flower:

I don't think I'll ever be a fan of the whole 90s take on opulence, or models as conventional as Candice.. or bodies as exuberant (and impossible to achieve unless you're a gym maniac, let's just say it) as hers, but for some reason, I'm just so drawn to this.. for all the things I listed here, for the fact that a lot of magazines (including my favorites) would go to great lengths to avoid precisely this kind of thing.. this isn't refreshing in the 'real world', this looks like everything at the newsstands really, but for what it is and the place it occupies in fashion, I think it's fun.. and face aside, she really has a gorgeous body.

I believe the Emma Summerton/Edward Enninful shoot with the top black models should finally be in this issue...I mean they shot it way back in October .

:woot: You just gave me a reason to excited.

Jourdan shot with them didn't she?

Candice looks really pretty
Not liking the jacket they used, im sure there was more options from that collection...
maybe not...
Excited for the content in all honesty, the cover just doesn't pop out to me like previous covers

It doesn't pop, but it still works. I love it. And Candice's body... it's surreal, like Lara Stone's. I'd like to see more of these bodies; variety is great, and too many pre-pubescent teenagers is dull.

i dont like the cover, but then again is not the girl fault (even though i dont like Candice...) but is just the whole styling of it that went wrong... and girl cant pick the clothes she wears... so... i dont like it.

still i'm intrigued by the editorial about how did that went on....

She almost resemble Esther Cañadas at first glance but I love the 90's Meisel look of it.

It's not overwhelming, but I do like it. There's something about the styling and Candice's presence that I like too. Can't wait to see the main editorial, I hope there's a real strong 90's Meisel vibe. For some reason I see Amber Valleta, maybes it's the eyes. Meisel has impressed a lot in recent issues, so I have no doubts about this.

This is so 90s, which imho, is great! Candice looks beautiful on the cover and I'm glad she's in it.

this is bad! Candice takes good pics but this styling makes her look plastic in a bad way
