Vogue Italia October 1985-1 : Christina Mucci by Hiro

Generally not fond of 80s-Vogue Italia. But this is such a pleasent shock: Very cinematic of what 90s-Vogue Italia would become under Meisel’s domination. Max/Nicolette/Renato/Klein & Piero/Patrick— all fantastically, worldbuilding stories that are so distinctive in their own personality but all add up to a wonderful whole. And Aldo was the best thing to have happened to the Armani brand; it was never quite as good after him.

(BTW, isn’t that a very young Kirsten Owen in "Bellezza: Con Il Freddo, Nuove Rughe”???)

Kirsten Owen didn't debut until 1987, which is in itself commendable, she was nearing 30 when Helmut and Meisel made her the girl of the moment. A testament to perseverance.

80s VI was very hit or miss, in my opinion. The 82-84ish period, was their best. And yes, Aldo was an amazing campaign photographer. Some brands best works from this period are from him.
