Vogue Italia September 2010 : Miranda Kerr by Steven Meisel

Why didn`t they make the HAUTE COUTURE cover the main cover. They`re used to making the same model in consecutive covers. That could`ve been a spectacular, breathtaking and worthit cover

Because the supplement is usually couture...

What the hell is so bad about a simple studio editorial? Why does every editorial have to be some big poltical statement or have a million pieces of couture in it for people to consider it worthwhile?

The cover & Kerr's ed are very cheap, she always with her Lolita's face, i'm so tired of her!!!

Can't wait to see the Kristen's ed and the other ones.

thank you...wow, people get bored easily.

does anyone know if the foreign readers get the glasses?

I think they pretty much have to include them in the import...otherwise what's the point. No doubt they'll just come attached to a page inside the magazine. It'll already be arriving in shrink wrap/plastic as it has the couture supplement, so I can't really see any reason why they wouldn't be included.

The "Haute Couture" cover is beautiful. Miranda's cover + ed are horrible. This is VI, not Glamour.

I can't help but read comments like this and wonder why so many feel like they know what's best for Italian Vogue? It's everyone is so confident that they know more than someone who's been in charge of the publication for over twenty years. Who should really be one to decide what is indeed Italian Vogue besides those at Italian Vogue? It's nice to see that we have members that are so fashion foward. :innocent:

HC cover is really great, I hope other content is great because I really want to buy this issue.

I don't understand the hate that I've been noticing with Miranda's editorial. I mean, come on people, I think there's nothing wrong with it. To be completely honest, I was really, like really, against the fact that she's gonna grace the cover before because to me, it's not yet her time to have a solo cover and an accompanying editorial. And when I read the thread title before opening it, I was almost close to being disappointed because the rumors were true at all that she landed a cover and the thing that made sad was that it's for the Sept. issue. But to my surprise, when I saw the cover, it made me realize that I was wrong after all because I like it. Simple yet effective. :) Especially when the whole set of Miranda's ed. was posted, it made me love it even more. It's because of the editorial that I realized Miranda has really something to offer in the world of high fashion. :)

Vogue Italia doesn't always need to be avant garde, high fashion or whatsoever because the main fact that the magazine is considered to be the edgiest title of all fashion magazines whether the cover was shot in a studio or in any location. Right? ;)

Looking forward to the content especially the couture supplement! :)

it's all about opinions and expectations,if the latter isn't met the former occurs.

the couture supplement is AMAZING! all the editorials are great and the styling is perfect. and tim walker eds generally make me happy no matter what, even though the one in this issue is not its best work ever. (lol i havent even opened the mag yet, i just rushed to see the couture eds.)

ok, i took a look at the whole magazine. The editorials are amazing. i saw someone asking for a review, i cant make a proper one cause i don't really know the model's names, but i can copy what it says on the contents page:

Miranda (3D)
Ph. Steven Meisel, Fashion editor Karl Templer

So Stylish!
Ph. Miles Aldridge, Fashion editor Patti Wilson

The Ballad of Ryan, Anna, Josh & Dree
Ph. Bruce Weber, Fashion editor Debora Watson

Nicole Grimaudo
Ph. Greg Lotus, Fashion editor Sara Maino

Sofia Coppola
Ph. Peter Lindberg, Fashion editor Stacey Battat.

It's All About Shapes

Ph. Emma Summerton, Fashion editor Edward Enninful

Vogue Beauty
Ph. Solve Sundsbo, Fashion editor Cathy Kasterine

The Scent of the future (3D)
Ph. Tim Walker

Vogue Suggestions
Ph. Francesco Carrozzini. Fashion editor Enrica PonzelliniThe eds are all very good. I wasn't a big fan of the 3D idea, but as someone that often can't even properly see the 3d effect, i must say that this time around it's been done very well (although i still fail to see how necessary it was considering how plain the meisel ed is).

The Couture supplement fashion editorials are 3

Haute Couture Paris september 2010, Kristen McMenamy

Ph. Paolo roversi, fashion editor Edward Enninful

High Style
Ph. Tim Walker, fashion editor Jacob K ( pieces from past couture seasons )

Like a movie, starring Elisa Sednaoui.
Ph. Miles Aldridge, Fashion editor Alice Gentilucci

I like the main editorial. It doesn't wow me but as a studio shoot it totally fulfills my expectations. Nevertheless I was hoping that Steven would squeezed out something unexpected in Miranda, and what I'm seeing here is nothing that I couldn't have envisionned from her. In that I prefer her latest work with Numéro in which she was portrayed as unpredictably sullen and.. different.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG ALDRIDGE AND ROVERSI IN ONE ISSUE? HAPPINESS!!!
i need to have it asap! it looks so good!
but, i only got the september issue 3 days ago...i will have to wait...maybe it won't even arrive here...

Don't worry windlagoon, I think the magazine may get here in 7 to 10 days. I know, it seems such a long wait!!!

Completely agree, especially when someone is a faithful fan of Italian Vogue publication and has been following it for years. After all Italian Vogue is made for fashion masses(to sell) and having a smiley portrait of a commercial girl on the cover is hardly fashion forward, it's rather fashion backwards excluding the real target group by changing the direction completely towards a commercial appeal!
