[A little bit basic for a famous popstar’s print cover debut for Vogue Korea.
In a more positive note, it’s just a matter of time that she and her co-NewJeans
members will have their group Vogue cover soon.]

[Should have been better since her last cover story for them was very creative.
This one looks like Juergen Teller’s work today.]

TAEYON / 10P

With Taeyon
[Her cover story reminds me of how British Vogue made Dua Lipa look
like Kris Jenner some time in 2021. This time, they made Taeyon look like J-Hope from BTS’ Proof album.]

[This issue’s highlight. Great editorial from a supermodel comeback.
I hope she gets another cover this year since the cover photo does not
do her and this cover story any justice.]

a better cover.]

+ Articles with Sofia Coppola, female visual artists from South Korea, and Delphine Arnault. I’m not really sure if the photo on page 158 serves as the official cover of their upcoming Vogue Runway’s FW 2024 booklet, but it's a four-part collage that includes Vilma Sjoberg's close-up shot.
I’m not a fan of this issue because of the oversaturation of cover stories. Aside from Sora, Kim Dami, Greta Lee, Krystal, and Suejin’s cohesive editorials as well as a supersized page count compared to other Vogue editions this month, there’s nothing special about it. Someone pointed out on the other thread last December that Korean magazines are very identical with each other if they remove their mastheads, and this issue just proves how much these shoots are indistinguishable with one another due to their lack of concepts and themes. Props to Yeyoung Hong, though, for designing these 24 covers.
