What a gorgeous image, she looks very much like a queen. Perhaps this will sound silly but did she actually sit for Vogue or is this a shot from an event? I can't think of any other "higher-up" royal besides Princess Diana who's ever sat for a cover of Vogue.

I dont really like the picture, it looks too weding photo. It would have worked better in color.

To me it looks like it could be a candid with the background shopped out. Though I don't follow her style; some royal-watchers may be able to pick the dress and event if that is the case.

I am intrigued by this. Maxima seems so natural and warm (and her daughters are so cute).

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, as an Australian and future Queen, was on the cover of Vogue Australia's December 2004 issue. Was the quite coup!

Yeah it's becoming quite common. I suppose its a way to increase the public profile internationally. Crown Princess Mary also had an editorial in German Vogue too.

I believe she didn't seat for this cover shot.... it's just an image in the past. And thank you, Mat Cyruss, for sharing that picture! Wish I could buy this in where I live.

Umm, US Bazaar July 2009 anyone? If you can't get the real thing, don't pretend. Surely they have enough pull/money to have been able to have a photo shoot with her, or at least a model. The concept is nice and it's a pretty cover, but it's lazy.
