THE HAGUE, Netherlands Princess Maxima, the Argentinean-born wife of the heir to the Dutch throne Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, is expecting the couple's third child, the Royal House announced Monday.
"The birth of the third child of His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange and Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima is expected in the second half of April 2007," the House of Orange said in a brief statement. "The couple have said they are 'grateful and happy.'"
Maxima's doctor has advised her to take it easy in the coming weeks, the statement said.
The couple already have two daughters, 2-year-old Amalia, and Alexia, aged 1.
A former investment banker, Maxima married Prince Willem-Alexander, the oldest son of Queen Beatrix, in 2002.
