Vogue Portugal October 2018 by David Paige

I thought it was one of those videos where you gradually see the final cover. So I'm waiting and waiting like a poor unfortunate for the cover to materialise, nothing. Lol. This collective is getting out of hand with their artistic endeavors for Vogue Portugal. It's so embarrassingly out of touch.

There's a second cover!

Model: Anna Lisa
Photo: Ricardo Santos

The model in the first cover is Nina Fresneau.

I don't understand that animation... it looks really amateurish.

I love this! I would take something abstract and intersting over some generic shot any day.

The second cover is incredibly soothing! Almost like their May cover with Debra.

Even if the content isn't for me, I can appreciate a magazine trying to go in a different direction, instead of giving up and waiting to die.

First cover feels kinda pointless and a bit too artsy fartsy but the second's nice.

Don't love either of these to be honest.

Finally a cover by Ricardo Santos! Can't wait to check his editorial. He still knows how to work that "artsy" side that this magazine is so over-craving yet he does it in a very unpretentious and classy way without forgetting the clothes. This might be my favourite VPt cover of the year.

I don't know what they tried to go for but they somehow created an image that could fit into a fisherman's village theme. The large black dress (very common not only for widows but for most older Portuguese women), the deconstructed bob that resembles some great Portuguese actresses, the sun.

I couldn't care less for that first cover. That IS pretentious.

I'll wait for the rest of the content and maybe I'll buy my first Vogue Portugal of the year... let's see.

The second cover is absolutely stunning! The growth of this magazine still amazes me. Give credit where its due.

And I agree with tigerrouge, I appreciate magazines that try (albeit reminiscent of Vogue Italia) rather those who just give up and stick to their comfort zones (ahem, Vogue Japan/China/India/Germany/Russia/Netherlands/Turkey/Thailand)
