Vogue Russia January 2022 : Vilma Sjöberg by Txema Yeste

I like it, it's something different and good... But as a fan of Txema's work, it couldn't be different!

Too bad Hermès has their eyes closed to Txema...

Meh. This would've had nothing if Nick Knight circa 2000 or Solve Sundsbo were to shoot a future themed issue.

There are two covers and weirdly I like the puzzled one better

I like the editorial better than the cover, other images were more fashion oriented actually, imo...

Thanks a lot, Zorka :flower:

I do like the editorial...and the cover as well...

Technofuture dystopia is a minefield, but when has a challenge ever stopped Txema. Extraordinary how a collection of tired motifs can still manage to contribute greatly to the genre. While Steven Klein tends to visualize the future as class (a high-end present that can only be accessed by an elite), Yeste has a more literal approach to the subject, highly conceptual, highly referential too. More imagination is applied, so to speak. An impeccably produced artifact.

In Russia, most people do not have such happy ideas about the future
:D we wear jeans,backpacks & puffy jackets all fall/winter.
this magazine is a useless & expensive fashion illusion that is not needed by 90% of the country's population.
now people are thinking about how to feed their children & not about clothes at a cost equal to the car...

^High fashion and Vogue have been selling that idea since their beginnings, it´s all about the illusion and expensive fashion. If you want fashion more "reality" oriented, get Marie Claire...

But it is about the fantasy
Its not a news magazine

You could say that about every edition of Vogue though
