Vogue Taiwan January 2025 : Zoé Fang by Zhong Lin

this lightweight, if not neutral-leaning editorial commentary gives a strong whiff of, if not an ode to, franca and meisel's infamous water & oil spread ft. kristen mcmenamy aug 2010

although what zhong lin and vogue taiwan did is not nearly as hard hitting or raw, it gets the point across in a comfortable than provocative way. i would've preferred some controversy, but contextually and culturally speaking, i understand why that's not always possible. still, the covers are eye-catching, zoé fang does the job well, and there was a clear vision for this theme.

strong start to the year for vogue taiwan

If fashion media wants to absolve any flicker of conscience about the overwhelming part they play in causing overconsumption, they need to confess their sins in an editorial meeting with a priest rather than lecture their readership, and resolve to change their ways from this moment onwards.

But I guess it will be business as usual next month. The only thing more disposable than fast fashion is a magazine's stance on anti-consumerism.
