Vogue Ukraine January 2014: Toni Garrn by Benny Horne

Hmm...not sure how I feel about this.

The heavy styling conflicts with the background. Also, it reminds me of an image you would find in the catalogues of department stores.

Ugh, more than anything I'm disappointed in the model choice. I feel like I say this in almost every Toni Garnn-related thread, but once again, she's completely overpowered by everything else around her. That facial expression is ridiculous in and by itself, but with such strong shapes/textures/lines all around her, she looks even more out of place. This would be perfect with someone like Malgosia or Cat McNeil because I do like everything else about the cover.

To me she looks gorgeous, her face expression is what saves it, i am drawn to her face because of it. Only the styling appears very heavy indeed with that background, but i still like this cover.

Agreed. She's working with Benny Horne, one of the greats, and an ace at making models look their most glamorous, and yet she looks like a catalog model.

i think it's more the make up and especially the hair that doesn't work.
dare i say she looks very...stereotype russian.
i like the background, the styling does nothing for me either, but that's because of the fur.

I like the styling, but her face looks like a wax figure version of herself.

I like the styling too, but not the expression on her face.

My sentiments exactly. The cover shot is perfectly serviceable, it's just downgraded by the composition of the text.

She looks a bit constipated to say the least…especially when you compare this to Zuzanna and Irina's Vogue Ukraine covers.

I understand the concept they were trying to get across, but it just doesn't work with Toni. I'm getting some World War II/Military-chic vibes from the cover but it just looks bad.

i like the vintage catalogue feel to it but the potitioning of the mast head almost ruins it

it's kind of a weak choice for a cover, nice for editorial but her facial expression ruins it

The more I look at this cover the more I like it. I think Toni looked like a classic movie star.
