Hilary Swank tells the January W magazine (on newsstands nationwide December 25) what she thinks of her last three films being box office busts: "It's the business of a lottery, for lack of a better word. All you have control over is how hard you choose to work. After that, you do your press, and then you let it go. Of course you want something you've given birth to to do well. But why sit there and lament over what you don't have control over?"

Hilary looks lovely...sophisticated but with a hint of danger

W used to be one of my favourite magazines and that's why I decided to subscribe to it. Unfortunately, since then the issues haven't been as good as years past. This cover is a nice start to the year though (even if it isn't a model). I like it.
