Gisele Edit: "Hothouse flower: by Juergen Teller, 19 pages shot in london. this is a heavily sexualized edit. Gisele is portrayed as a compl;etely objectified woman, in fact her poses are not unlike an exotic dancers or strippers. I have been missing teller's in your face, extreme and even degrading photo style so it's a welcome return here. The clothes are strong evening looks, Jane How styled and the sexuality is impossible to miss- Gisele is barely wearing some of these outfits. I will just describe the more notable dresses & especially the poses & story-line that is suggested by these most overt & sexual images. the studio set is obvious, it looks like a dirty open room with makeshift props like industrial cargo boxes, various modern-ish [or middle-range] office furniture, and odd props like a lizard, a cactus & more. these 'random' props are used well by teller & gisele is truly a mannequin following the photog's orders into some pretty embarrassing or degrading, and yet oddly, manipulatively Sexy, poses.
* cavalli black dress- gis pushes her fake boobs way up in an obvious 80s/Dynasty in your face -glam gesture;
* armani hot black mini dress, gis' back is to us, shes posed on a step ladder with a huge phallic cactus pointing up her skirt & implying rear penetration by cactus- that's a big ouch & I wonder if gisele even twigged that teller is implying her being screwed by a plant?
* gisele on her knees in sweet silver ungaro dress, holding a lizard by the neck & back. this is a yard-long reptile & shes pretty brave to be doing this. meanwhile shes on her knees with orange paper under her knees on the dusty floor- gisele is a pro & she never lets degardation get in the way of a fashion shoot. brava!!
* hot D&G white dress, gis glued into high window frame. meisel used a similar shot in vogue a few months back with julia & others stuck in window frame.
* gisele laying on her back on yellow floor wearing Dior hot floral gown. there are 4 large orchid buds arising from between her legs. this is the most overt symbol of the sexualized "Hothouse flower" title & if you like gisele with orchids sprouting from her vagina, you will love this. the feminists among us will be appalled at the sexualization & blatant objectification of this but hey, thats what fashion photos are for. right?!
* one of best pics, gis in b&w gucci dress again in window frame this time from behind with a glass of red wine. this is among the more traditional compositions in this edit & its one of the best.
* gis in LV midnight blue gown, her mouth agape, her eyes closed, this is her 'orgasm face' pose that she made famous earlier in her career.
* the most overt 'stripper' shot, gis in scott wilson cut-out bikini, very minimal, bow tied at her waist, dancing above a yellow cargo box with pink wrapping paper at her feet, suggests a stripper emerging from a pink cake. while ridiculous & sexy at the same time, this may be the most 'photographically' impacting pic here- the 'gisele is a stripper' theme is totally obvious. hot bikini too, very sheena of the jungle.
* gis in goldenrod CK dress. posed atop a danish office chair. she pulls her dress all the way up to her crotch & I believe she is pantyless under it.
* gis on blue office chair, eyes closed, back arched, left hand stuck between her legs in hot balenciaga white dress. like natalia's recent CK ad, there is no doubt gisele is implying masturbation here. the sadist in me loves to see her objectified & exploited like this; I wonder what the feminists [or gisele's mom or Brazilian Catholics] think about her masturbating in a fashion mag? well she is a professional model.
* gis dancing in va-voom versace black dress. her most awkward pose, yet also recalls newton's uber-model amazons. gis is such a hot dancer as she showed at The Garden party last week in nyc,. why does she do the sleazy ghetto moves in mag photos?
* gorgeous ungaro gold silk dress. gisele index finger in mouth, total airhead move, again pulling up her dress to crotch to show us she has no panties on.
* gorgeous light blue kenzo dress, gis using huge hairspray can with a parrot perched on her chair. the comedy here recalls some of lachapelle's absurdist pics, yet the bright blues of the parrot & gis' gown enervate the dirty studio setting.
* gis' back arched as she rides an office sofa like a horse in her 'ride me mony' pose. sexy lanvin black party dress & the sexualization & ecstacy implied in this pic is impossible to miss.
* barely wearing chanel black dress. its totally see through above her legs spreead wide at 180 degree angle. her panties are completely visible through the dress as she makes another 'orgasm face' wide eyed pose. in a sexual/bimbo way this is the hottest pic in the edit. if you love objectified sexual gis this is great; if you prefer a woman with more poise & dignity you will be appalled at her sluttiness here.
your reaction to this edit really depends on how you feel about objectified sexualized models & then further your personal feelings about gisele & teller's work.
there is something oddly kinky about the blatant abuse & situations here. its actually pretty risque for an american magazine. gisele is REALLY bimbo-fied here, and for that I give Teller HUGE credit, he really pushed that 'button.' Among my fave gisele edits in a while. rating 7.75 of 10.
** the Gisele cover is shot by michael thompson. Im sure none of teller's hothouse pics would have worked. gis' makeup in the teller shoot is much better than on cover. her face looks hard & older on the cover. the CH top is ok but really only her fuschia panties & hot lower body register here. its a fairly sexy cover but doesnt suggest the much wilder edit inside.
DARIA "Wanderlust" BY SORRENTI. 18 page edit. shot in south america? [ also looks like upstate new york in summer!] very pretty 'rain-forest' type backgrounds. the looks are mainly bohemian/peasant dresses/tops.
this edit is placed as a diametric opposite to gisele's blockbuster sl*tty looks & poses. here daria is a wholesome earthchild in the wild and I must say these soft-focus sorrenti pics present that winningly. the evening looks in gisele's edit are hotter than these patterns and ethnic prints but in a certain way daria's edit is more complete & satisfying. looks include:
* oscar red/blue silk caftan;
* fendi bohemian dress;
* hermes crepe blouse. daria is soaked in water in many of these pics, its very dresh & clean but in this pic her face looks too skeletal & her nose is a bit odd. in most of the other pics her hair is in her face & she looks gorgeous.
* stella diaphanous transparent gown in the forest. maybe best pic in edit, daria looks totally naturally beautiful & really freshly appealing.
* daria sitting in pond wearing DVN cotton shirt,. another gorgeous earthchild look.
* daria dripping wet wearing hermes blouse, this & the stella pic are the best in this edit & among the prettiest daria images Ive ever seen.
* 2 cute closeups in LV & lanvin. the soft focus here really suits daria & the clothes.
* in a thicket of trees wearing cute blue chloe dress.
* hot cabin interior in red ferretti peasant top & D&G denim mini. really cute wholesome pic, almost like a 70s naturalist cabin style pic.
* in the forest in prada, j mendel, &
* finally mulberry white cotton/lace dress. in the mulberry pic, it looks like daria just woke up her hair is all tousled & shes basking in the soft forest light. these are some of the prettiest sorrenti pics Ive ever seen & its also one of my favorite daria edits ever.
Her fans will go wild for this beautiful soft edit. rating 8 of 10.
