W Magazine Volume #6 2022 : Mariah Carey by Ethan James Green

The Queen of Christmas herself! I like the simplicity of it, feels like a fun throwback. For someone who's such a big star and a household name, Mariah isn't often on magazines so it feels special when she is.

Cute cover, but it also illustrates why she rarely lands the big magazines, or campaigns.

that opened button was a choice. she looks good at least, hopefully the editorial is good too.

also surprised why hasn’t Anna given her a cover ever! I’m not Mariah’s number one fan but she’s totally deserving of a Vogue cover.

Struggling to understand who is the worst Steven Meisel homage photographer: Ethan James Green or Hugo Comte. Would it really trouble them too much to do something original??

This is actually great for her without looking comical, and very clever of them hiring EJG to do this for obvious reason.

Meisel "paid hommage" to nearly every photographer/director possible and made a career out of copying Avedon so I don't see anything wrong with EJG or Comte doing the same thing. This cover is actually magnificent. Mariah looks divine.

Meisel recreated Mariah's album with his Hanna Soukupova cover. It's the very same shot, and not complaints! That VI cover is one of my all time favorites. In another note, I don't find these new pictures Meisel at all.

Love it, very 2000s and as the queen of the while low cut/ butterfly top 2000s she should enjoy the resurgence as well.

Meisels work always had a modern take to it. EJG is just straight up rip off. Not an original thought in sight.

The cover is so nostalgic, reminds me the "golden" days for this mag between late 90's & early 2000's. The preview of her edit is an amazing tribute of her "Daydream" album cover.

I think the unbuttoned jeans cover works for the summer but not for a holiday cover. That’s the state of my jeans after a big holiday feast.
