Wales Bonner S/S 2017 London | the Fashion Spot

Wales Bonner S/S 2017 London

first collection that i really liked so far. Very beautiful!

Grace is by far one of the most exciting desingers right now imo. Her work is so personal, so poetic, and so incredibly fresh especially in the menswear circle. This being her first solo show, the collection was a bit more commercial and paired down, but all her codes that made her Fashion East presentations (which I urge you to check it out if you haven't already) so incredible are there. Her deep and constant inspiration of African history, black empowerment and her unique take on masculinity... it's amazing to watch her evolution.

There's always a personal element to Grace in her collection, the narrative of African masculinity is strong and almost gender less. Those last two looks are sublime.

Easily one of the most exciting and promising menswear designers to emerge recently. Her works at MAN and Fashion East were revelatory but this collection is like a coming of age, something crazy to even imagine as this is her first solo show, but this explores and celebrates everything Grace finds fascinating all while being undoubtably refined and digestible. I am so excited to see where her career goes.

Don’t see what the fuss is about: It’s basic in that Margaret Howell instant-classic kind of way. Although, the styling is so effortless, slick, thoughtful and subversive in the way the men are wearing mostly feminine pieces and silhouettes that never even comes close to crossdressing, I can’t help but find it all so charming. That, and the Harlem jazz club attitude is the thing of classic fashion iconography that I also can’t help but be drawn to.

Pure styling-- but nevertheless beautifully presented.

^Even though the visual aspect of her work is very impactful, from her presentations to her collaboration with Harley Weir, I can attest you it's not all styling. I've seen her clothes up close and they're incredibly well made, especially for such a young brand. You can really feel the care that she puts into the pieces. The tailoring is impeccable and the decoration is super delicate.

I can't deny there's things I'd personally like to own and wear, but aside from that I don't really see what all the fuss is about.

I think it's a rather refreshing point of view, especially in the context of all the other Menswear shows during LC:M.

Really nice to see her progress.

This is gorgeous and I really want to wear a lot of these pieces. Excellent.

its quite amazing when youre a designer and you can a produce a collection that makes people want the full looks as much as the separates. Love how romantic her designs are.

I really like the brand's name =) i thought it was a man actually, or family and an old house
I saw her pieces in the shop and liked what I saw; I'm sure it was ss16. I find this similar <3
