What Skin Care Did You Use Today?

day
Clarins Shaping Facial Lift
You should try using this at night instead of during the day, 'treatment' products work best at night when our skin is rejuvenating itself. I used to use this, except it was called Contouring Facial Lift. :)

Belowen I hope your skin heals itself quickly, and Valkyrie sounds like you're on the right path. Dont you just LOVE the Moisturizing Renewal Cream? TDF.

^Oh my god, LetThemEatCake, you always give the best skincare advice!!! Thank you!
Did the contouring facial lift work well for you? Did your face actually become slimmer? :D Some person on MUA said that their face got so slim they actually had to stop using it after a few months. I hope that is true, because my face is as chubby as this smilie:

Well my face didnt get as slim as this person says, (I would love that for me because I have a fuller face naturally) but I did use it every night and not only did it make my jawline firmer and more prominent it made some red marks and discolorations disappear! This was oh, 2002, 2003 so I'm sure it is MUCH better formulated by now.

And you know how to apply it right? There's this Method that Clarins uses, really its just massage techniques, but you also use it with Skin Beauty Repair...have some of the product warmed in both your palms (when a product is warm beforehand it penetrates your skin deeper) amd sit on the edge of the tub or something so that your elbow are on your knees, your head is bent over and with your hand you cradle your face in your palms. You begin by spreading the product UPWARDS and outwards with light gentle strokes, softly pressing in the product. Inside the box for Contouring Lift there should be a 'How-to' on this..they used to also put it in the Skin Beauty Repair box but they dont anymore, I think it is because they dont want to waste paper.

I never had a chance to read the instruction booklet- it's all the way in another city... But your description is very well written and I get how to do it! Thank you! How do you warm the product though?! Do you rub it in your palms with a lot of friction? Or soak your hands in hot water first and dry them? I feel like a skincare noob.

No you wouldn't want to run your hands under hot water or even use hot water on your face-ever, its very drying and aging.

Here is a picture I actually found of what to do, it doesnt show their 'Method of Use' as exactly as I described, you apply the product in your palms, just a few pumps, and place your hands together so your right thumb is near the bottom of your left palm, and then gently press together for a few seconds, lift your hand off, turn your top hand (your right hand still) so that your thumb comes to the middle of your left index finger. This is just warming the product up.
Do not use a lot of friction, when applying to the face, apply gently, smooth it over your face and always smooth outwards.

I looked up Clarins Method and came up with mostly photos of products and a few boutiques, Clarins is huge in Asia and France, and apparently, the #1 Leader and Best-Seller of Cosmetics in Europe.

Anyway, look at the first photo, which says 'Method of Use' for a general idea, except not on your fingertips, your palms.

Photo source is dailymail.co.uk for the facial photo, other is uk.boutique.clarins.com

yes I really love it and you only need a tiny bit :) luckily I have a large sample but I'm going to order the full jar :D

And it is 3 A.M. here and I MUST go to bed if I'm going to be up by 9...tonight, well just about 40 minutes ago I did another fun experiment

Started with Dermalogica PreCleanse
Then without rinsing it off all the way, I had lathered it up, I applied my Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Refiner (almost out of) on top and since its so gentle I exfoliated my face, left that on and used my Cyclic Nano Silver Cleanser, rinsed it all off
Erno Laszlo toner
Epicuren Enzyme Vitamin Complex
Karin Herzog Vita-A-Kombi 1 (this has hydrogen peroxide, pretty much oxygen, in it for people who smoke and I have a bad habit of off/on smoking during the summer...anyhow, good night.)

yes i have a 7ml sample, been using it almost a week now, morning and evening on areas and i still have 2/3 left so it goes a long way!

as soon as my skin is back to its original self i ll take a picture :D, now i m quite camera shy but luckily i have long hair that covers up most of my cheeks spots :D

Dont let your hair touch your face though, especially if you have product in it, or even if you have no product in it, your hair could be causing breakouts from the oils in it.

This morning
Dermalogica PreCleanse
Shiseido The Skincare Extra-Comfort Cleansing Foam on Clarisonic Skincare Brush
Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Refiner
extractions on nose
Remainder of my Biologique-Recherche MC110 No.2 Restructurating Facial Fluid
shaved
Erno Laszlo chilled toner
Clarins Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate Serum
Cle De Peau Beaute La Creme
On Throat:YG Labs Moisture Perfecting Cream
La Prairie Essence of Skin Caviar Eye Complex

does your nose need so many extractions all the time??

it's holiday for me so I have a ponytail usually now but my left cheek is 3 times as worse as my right cheek and on my right cheek hangs the most hair so it's not that! next week I'm going back to dermatologist for a new pill, I started using a new strip this week and after 2-3 days the red bumps were popping again, luckily the cream keeps it a bit under control but I don't want to suffer from this every month

so far I haven't used anything today but am going to use:
louis widmer cleansing milk
louis widmer tonique
skinceuticals phyto corrective on colored areas (it has a green color, weirdddd!!! but it's so easy to use)
dermatologist cream on bumps
revive renewal cream on colored areas
shiseido spf 15 lucent other areas

How often do you change your pillowcase? Think about it. I dont as often as I should. We roll around in our sleep at night (unless you are strapped down  or in one of those upright pillows that not only look uncomfortable but also feel uncomfortable to me) and our hair and hands and face touch the pillowcase, and maybe your body prefers resting on its right side, so you have more breakout there because of it? I have no idea, never having met you, but that's what I tell people who complain of something on only one side, or the condition is worse on one side, either pillowcase or hair product or people who complain of lines and spots, its from the sun when they drive, they drive stop and go on the busy traffic on the highway and the sun only hits them on one side.

I like doing extractions, and yes my nose gets them (comedones, blackheads) quite often because I exercise often and sweat so much when I do cardio and dont immediately shower afterwards as I'm on my way home....

Tonight/this morning @ 3:30-4:00 A.M. I cleansed my skin, this actual yesterday morning (day of the 20th) i had to rush out of the house with only toner accomplished on my face after rinsing off shaving cream and having done steps UP TO toning because I was running late. In the car, I applied serum and cream.

But just a half hour ago (I always tend to do my skincare routine in the P.M. right before I get into bed, dont ask why, just always have)

Dermalogica PreCleanse
Lait VIP 02 Oxygenating Cleansing Milk
some more extractions on nose....yes it needed it, yesterday morning wasnt able to get them all
Swipe of witch hazel on nose
Erno Laszlo Hydraphel Skin Supplement Toner everywhere else
Clarins Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate
Epicuren Enzyme Vitamin Complex Concentrate
Natura Bisse Sensitive Cream

LTEC, come over and do my extractions for me would you? I've never had it done... I'm might ask my beautician about it next time I'm there...

am
dermalogica daily microfoliant
dermalogica soothing protection spray
skinceuticals phyto corrective gel
this works! tired eye serum
dermalogica oil control lotion

pm
dermalogica precleanse
skinceuticals simply clean cleanser
dermalogica soothing protection spray
skinceuticals phyto corrective gel
dermalogica active moist
re'vive eye renewal cream

I love doing extractions. I just wish my pores would stay open longer, and the hardest place to get them (the blackhead) out is on the top of the bridge of your nose...I remember in beauty school our instructor told us to just push the skin together there and they would all squeeze out...not necessarily true.

But it's somehow refreshing to get that garbage out of your face, especially when you've just started to extract from that area and then you press gently again against the blackhead and MORE comes out, meaning it's been in there a long time. If it comes out 'thick' and yellow it's really 'old' and been there a long time, if it is thin and white and comes out fast it's relatively new. Making any sense at all here?

Anyhow yes, ask about them at your next appointment. Usually to better get them out, an esthetician steams your skin (some skin can tolerate up to 12 minutes, again this is what I was taught in beauty school, so it's just one or two, maybe up to three instructors opinions) and that is done after exfoliation. I could barely tolerate steaming because my skin reddens easily, so I did a maximum of 2 minutes on my skin or to open my pores during 'practice' time in class, we just used a warm towel on my face, I rarely ever extract anywhere other than the nose, maybe a bit between my eyebrows and sometimes up on my forehead but its really not too bad. Never on the cheeks. I think that area is way too thin anyway.

Some estheticians use q-tips or just cotton wrapped around their index and middle fingers to get out blackheads, screw that! I need a tool!

Last night

Dermalogica PreCleanse
MyChelle Fruit Enzyme Cleanser
Erno Laszlo chilled toner
Clarins Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate
ReVive Intensite Volumizing Serum everywhere (I rarely use this because of the price tag but upon waking this a.m. my skin was immaculate)
Natura Bisse Sensitive Cream

^ So the Re'vive volumiing serum is good...?

last night
dermalogica precleanse
skinceuticals simply clean cleanser
dermalogica soothing protection spray
skinceuticals phyto corrective gel
dermalogica overnight clearing gel
re'vive eye renewal cream

& my skin is back to normal today ^_^

already ahead of you :) I've been placing a large towel over my pillow case and change them 2 times a week because I always rest on the side and not on my back / lately I'v been sleeping more on my right side (the side that doesn't have many spots) so that's a no-no also

going to the doctor tomorrow, I want new pil because after starting my new strip everyday I find at least one new spot (always same places) and yeah the cream from the dermatoligst helps but it still leaves a spot and it dries out my skin so badly and makes it so sensitive, come to think of it that last 1-2 weeks I didn't get any new ones

but the phyto from skinceuticals is helping a lot with the scars/darker areas so I hope when I have to go to work I'm normal again because everyone is always asking what is wrong with me and getting tired of it! want my skin back

tonight using:
dermalogica precleanse
nuxe mousse cleanser (love it!! my skin tolerates it)
louis widmer tonique
phyto corrective gel skinceuticals dark areas
dermatoligst cream spots
nuxe creme etincelante
