What will happen to the big groups like LVMH, Kering and Richemont in the long term?

With Kering going through an extended flop period and LVMH’s sales down, it got me wondering about the long term fate of these massive conglomerates.

Do you think they will survive in the decades to come, and if so is it possible for them to remain on top – or will they just continue to diminish, either closing / selling off houses or accepting a permanently lower status?

Or worse, will their empires dissolve altogether / be absorbed by other companies?

Can the heirs to the throne ever reach / exceed the heights of their forerunners or has their success peaked?

There are already articles about a possible LVMH scission: LV for fashion, leather goods, beauty, perfumes, retail, jewelry and watches, and MH - Moet Hennessy for wines and spirits, so it might become 2 separately quoted groups.
They are hoping that the sum of the two separate groups will be higher than the current group with the two divisions.

I think LVMH will survive as their portfolio is not just luxury, beauty and spirits, but publishing, hotels and cafes too.
IMO its much trickier for Richemont as their focus is on veryyyyy niche jewellery and watches that are apparently not selling great nowadays ( understandably so)
