I have been forever waiting to see some interesting, young, elegant, fresh and interesting clothes on the Red Carpet for years now. What is going on. Are ALL these fashion schools failing to inspire and deliver to its students, what it takes to be really "Great" designer of fabulous clothes. I really don't know anymore. I have seen some interesting things on "Project Runway" but certainly not on the runways of "Fashion ..weAk":yuk:. Something weird has happened in the past 25 years to "The Look of Fashion" in America. Nothing....! We need newness. We need real glamour (not gaudy). We need Chic (not bad ideas of it). Come on American Designers.... are you gonna leave the fantastic display of creativity in fashion to the Europeans. New York, LA ...let's get with the program... this is the 21st Century for Christ sake.

red carpet = celebrities = no fashion sense (for the most part)
i think that's the problem

Well there are several new designers in the past few years. Zac Posen I would consider new. Marchesa is quite new too. I can't name them all but I assure you there are lots.

Yes, basically. I hate how so many people think that celebrities are so stylish in general, when they're no more naturally stylish then the rest of the population. They just have money.

I hate seeing the same boring Monique Lhullier gowns cluttering the red carpet, and a lot of the time Versace too. Pretty much anyone can wear a Versace gown, try something new. Wear something that looks like you were born to wear, not the same old thing.

The problem is that they all like to play it safe, so they aren't criticized in the papers the next day. I myself was quite dissapointed overwall with the fashions at last weeks Golden Globes.

....very much aware of :heart:Zac Posen & Machesa but perhaps what I mean to say should not be directed to the designers themselves but the "Stylist" ... who are paid quite nicely to dress these celebrities. Yet. The choices in clothing & designers that they make are always predictable, boring and consistantly bad taste. Maybe some "stylist" and "celebrities" don't realize. Wearing a famous designer name doesn't automatically, guarantee "looking good". If in fact some of younger, fresher designers want to showcase their designs. Then perhaps they need to be meeting up with some of these overpaid "Stylist" by force! I don't know what's the solution. It just seems that their is just too much "...oh let me wear whatever as long as the label is known". Style the hair (which rarely suits the clothes). Get the jewelry and so on (cause that projects another set of labels & status). And it all ends up looking like a big mish mosh. What does it ALL mean? God forbid if Bad Style...Bad Taste...Bad choices has somehow become the exceptable statements. The

critics on the Television (TV Guide)...Style Network, E! and so on. Well. All they ever do is just really bad mouth the Stars never really making a point and rarely blaming the ones that sent them out in public, dressed up so wrong to begin with. I think we need to send them some CLUES ...maybe?
