Which must-haves or trends are you having? And which are you tossing back?

I'm having ...
  • 60s Hitchcock influence
  • Portrait-collar boxy statement jacket
  • Metallic
  • Velvet
  • A bit of neo Gothic
  • Black, grey, purple, brown
  • Texture
  • Jeweled flats
  • Victorian/Edwardian influence
  • Lighter pink lips and cheeks as seen on a number of runways
  • Both narrow and full skirts
I'm tossing back (not necessarily because I don't like, can't do everything) ...
  • Military
  • Space pod and bohemian 60s
  • FUR!!!
  • Drainpipes--as if
  • Blousey blouses
  • Floor-length gowns
  • Brocade and tapestry
  • Belts
  • Blue
  • Lace
  • Russian/folkloric/embroidered
  • Expensive blue jeans
  • It bags
  • Thigh-high boots
  • etc.
What about you?

ditto.......

except with different make up... :D
and lots of boots and embellished pumps (ie-bows, rosettes...)

edit-and i'm thinking about fur seriously for the first time...
:innocent:

also-
capes
vests
cropped pants
'gypsy' influences...full skirts...poet shirts...
and more black

I like this thread. I would really like to know how everyone is responded to all the available choices. I just love this. No one is going to feel the need to look one particular way.

I haven't even really decided yet.. it's still in the works.

Yes to:

-a romantic/Gothic feel.

-various shades of purple, grey, teal, and mossy greens.
-agreeing on texture. Lots of mixing and matching of texture for a ton of depth and interest.

-Victorian.. but not high-collared Victorian. More the lace and flow of it.

-hints from Equestrian.. some riding boots would be fab.

-random hints of glitz and glamour. A sheer scarf studded with sequins? Yes. Muted metallic flats? Yes.

-monochromatic 60's mod. Black and white.

-Cropped jackets and cardigans.

Can't work with:
-Military

-skinny jeans.. agreeing. They're awful and a total over-in-a-season trend I think.

-Russian.

I´m going for an exagerated elegance this fall with heavily textured fabrics - very skinny black velvet pants, shimmering satin (tuxedo jacket), washed-down cottons and cozy, oversized knits. It´s so exciting to play around with shiny and matte surfaces this season, all-black doesn´t seem boring anymore with all the different fabrics...!

I will definitely accessorize with skarves this time, I´ve got a very long, fringed skarf in a dark plum and another in dark brown with big fringes all over that almost looks like a fur, to be fastened with a big safety pin (from Y´s)...

post pics everyone.. would love to see inspiration pieces for fall :flower:

BEATNIKS !  I love that.

wafaya, great idea :woot:
