Which F/W 05 must-haves are you having?

I go for ROCKABILLY and all what that means!..
I'm ina rockabilly kind of mood to

I don't really even know how to follow trends, even if I wanted to, so I don't feel qualified to answer this quetsion.

I'd really like a killer pair of short black boots to wear with cropped jeans like this:

(but I know I can't afford the ones Kate has  )

In addition to the killer black boots, Yes to:

- black (always) and deep autumn colors
- black tights with flowy dresses
- tweed (always for me!)
- flats (I'm slowly venturing into this territory!)
- a Balenciaga - like military jacket (but subtle)
- vintage (always!)
- scarves
- hats (I just bought one like the pic below at Target for $12!!!)
- jeans and black pants
- pencil skirts that hit just above the knee are most flattering for me
- black turtlenecks (always!!!)
- thick belts (I used to have a great one in the 80's need to find one again)

I pretty much have my set individual style and I will borrow from a few trends, but not too many -- I know what works for me!

NO to:

- It bags (never)
- too much boho, but I have always dressed a little hippie/boho -- but not overkill!
- capes
- huge skirts (I'm too petite, doesn't work on me)
- skinny jeans (looks good on Kate Moss, not on me!)
- anything that makes me look like a fashion victim

I have made an actual list of the things I need to be buying:
Velvet accessories and shoes
Woolen cape
Lace dresses
Anything in burgandy, grey, black and jewel toned blue, green, yellow and magenta.
Jewelled flats
Flat boots
Newsboy cap
Black skinny trousers in satin
Heeled loafers
Victorian blouses
Princess coat
Tulip/Balloon skirts
Any rich fabrics like satin, brocade, silk and velvet

but of course helena, excellent choices as a whole,
we dont have to look the same after all
if it wasnt for Sienna, i'd also do the millitary/brass jacket myself i'm still tempted, its only the snob in me that hesitates ^_^

You should go for it, Lena, if it's calling your name ... tell the snob to take a hike, you will do it better than Sienna :D

how could i forget

:woot: space.. you and emi are the iconoclasts of our little tea party here, way to go, brake the rules guys

oh no, sad to say but i can't wave my snobism bye bye..
see. whenever i buy 'hot' trend looks, they end up unworn in the closet, i feel 'ashamed' to wear them, i guess i need some analysis on that, i have a complex with non wearing popular things, its like a phobia or something

( jeezz..getting off topic here , excuses) :ninja:

We will just call it an occupational hazard and say that you need absolutely no therapy

On topic, I will confess that I am doing tweed. I knew full well I should have done it sooner, but the right tweed did not call my name until now ... :innocent: However, like flats, tweed is absolutely classic, it's just a matter of whether it's hot or not ... but it never goes stone cold (IMHO of course )

my 10 must-haves:

black (i have some. they are always classic. I need black jewelry though)
boots (got a pair of Prada boots)
chain bags (the 2.55 reissue is not really me, but I will see if the Marc Jacobs chain bags goes on sale)
coats (still looking for one  Yohji Yamamoto? Stella McCartney? I need to go to NYC and try all of them on!)
lady like suits (I have suits, but not big name designer suits. I'll look for Roland Mouret when it's on sale)
pants (I need fitted pants badly especially after I lost weight during the hot summer. Theory has great skinny pants! Will get them in outlet)
flats (eyeing on those Marc Jacobs flats)
velvet (I will look too young in them, so I pass)
Victorian blouse (still looking for a good, but not expensive one)
wide belts (I have one from Gucci. maybe get the YSL one later..but not my top priority)

it's funny you started this post ta-ta. I just started my blog and the first article is about the above 10 must-haves.

yes :

black
shades of grey
chunky knit scarves in grey and/or black
natural makeup : a touch of lipbalm but MATTE, fresh skin but not dewy/shiny, tons of black mascara on upper lashes
when feeling glamourous : pitch black liquid liner on upper lid
black tights sheer
black tights very opaque
flat used faux leather boots that hit about 5 cm above the ankle with a few delicate buckles
black nail polish
stripes
delicate metal wallet chain
skinny leg pants

sounds great

If I could own the whole entire F/W collection of Dior Homme, that'd be it for me:innocent:

Since I'm not that fortunate, I'm gonna try to incorporate some elements into my wardrobe: military (some army surplus jackets and combats pants), slim 'n trim silhoutte (skinny jeans and shrunken blazers, leather jackets, hoodies), russian (hopefully some nice Cloak pieces), victorian punk, belgian chic, stripes, and a pair of really nicely distressed laced up army boots (eyein a Costume Nationale pair)...

Love this thread!

I think my style is gonna have lot's of black clothes, but not in a gothic way.
I also really like that 60's vibe and I'm hoping to use that somehow.
I really like Dior Homme f/w 2005 collection.
But right now I have only few items on my "Must have" list
*new black skinny jeans
*miu miu jacket
*bright yellow tight wollen sweater
*Dsquared belt

and I also would like to have lot's of new shoes!
