Which of these brands fits truer to size?

Which brand of these two fits truer to size? I have Helmut Lang 25" jeans (at least 2" too wide in the waist) and Cheap Monday 25" jeans (fit perfectly, but become tight for a little while after food or a lot of beverages). I'm not terribly knowledgeable about fashion, so, what would your call be?

Figured it out with a tape measure. For future reference: the HL jeans run large and the CM jeans run small.
