Windowshopping - Gift Ideas and Holiday Displays

eloes, I love all of your suggestions.

edit; just to say that even though i pretty much used to puke everytime I heard this saying when I was younger, giving really is the best part of christmas

what do you suggest getting for someone who doesn't really seem to have any interest at all in material possessions (except maybe more money in the future)? he asked for a sweatshirt, a kenneth cole watch, and abercrombie clothes... but none of those things are really special or sentimental (without having too big of a cringe-factor)....

i'm going in to the citY (LA) this weekend but i have no idea where to begin...i've already done the tourist rodeo and 3rd st promenade thing... i gotta pick up someting at fred segal in santa monica but otherwise i dunno where would be some nice places to go

Lo--thx for the link :flower:
that kept me entertained for a while.

lo that website it awesome...that exhibit was on at colette when i was there but i didn't know what it was...
thanks so much for posting...

didn't you buy some tape there? I was thinking that when I saw the wood tape.

good memory chris...but actually i bought two rolls of tape...one in a gallery in london...blk with little white skeletons...and one at dover st market ...tan with big wht safety pins...

didn't see any tape at colette...

I would have bought those too. Being me, I would never use them...

i only use them for special things... ^_^

i also have snakeskin tape...

yes i do!...as do i!... :stuart:
it was a gift...funny but appropriate gift... ^_^

Those are called China-shoes in Denmark..only difference is that they are made in velvet ..or should I say a crappy Chinese idea of velvet.
Everybody my age used to wear them as indoor shoes when they attended kindergarden ..so they have a kind feel good quality to them..in recent years predominantly teen-agers ..and myself ( ..hardly a teenager) have started wearing them as well..but not just as indoor shoes.
I got them in black, brown, wine "velvet" they are so cheap..I'm going to get them in cream as well this spring!
