What would you say the worst trend of 2004 was?

I would say, UGGs, I have two pairs because they are comfortable...but they were blown out of proportion.

Juicy Couture velour tracksuits, everyone was wearing them, you need SOME type of diversity!

Insane layering, example-Mary Kate Olsen. I can understand she did it to hide her tiny frame for the time being but some people just went overboard with the gypsy layering trend.

There are others but I can't think of them. How about you guys?

Fashionista101,

Could you please use a darker color for your postings? The pink is really hard to read.

Thanks!!
:flower:

Polos. And two polos, one on top of the other. And "popping" the collars. Lacoste are the worst.

Although I agree the velour tracksuits got old mighty fast... ditto the Uggs...

i still hate the idea of the ladylike trend. glad to see it didn't fully materialize.

fashionista, I just edited the colour of the text in your post so that people could see it.:flower:

thank you. lol i was looking for the other one that i posted i was like, oh that's weird.

and i agree with the colar popping thing, that was SO annoying, and people were doing it as a status thing i heard, like you popped it, you're well off. that was so stupid.

what was the ladylike trend? did i miss that one?

i hated those unflattering terrycloth tubetop beach dresses that a lot of tasteless celebs were wearing. and uggs became annoying once they became the "it" boots.

i dont like Uggs... can you imagine i went to asia and saw people wearing them-- in the dead of summer? far out!!

Uggs & mukluks or whatever they're called. Uggly!
Also Juicy Couture suits and anything terrycloth.
Loved the ladylike trend though. :)

VON DUTCH is finally dead thank god, along with the trucker hat!!!
ditto! What in the world was so great about that I really cannot fathom.

ahh yes. i never really liked that trend, the bows and everything pink. i liked the tweed jackets and bags but some designers went overboard.

and whoever said von dutch that was the one that i couldn't think of the name of. i HATED everything von dutch, the hats, shirts, bags...what was wrong with those people? thank god it's almost forgotten now!

- jelly bags
- ponchos
- the overabundance of Juicy tracksuits-- I don't think they're that bad when you're having one of those days and you don't feel like getting dressed; the problem is when they become a wardrobe staple
- terry cloth in general

ponchos!! yes. thank you jessica simpson.

and i never got the jelly bag thing, they were ugly versions of the ever classy birken bag. what were people on?!

-Mukluks:sick:
-Sienna Miller's boho style. It was nice at first but then suddenly everybody started wearing similar clothes and were so 'chic' and 'boho'.

:flower: tangerine...

 I have always popped the collar on my polos... its best if you wear a nice cashmere jumper over the top... on my daggy days i do that and just wear navy track pants... but i have to agree way too many people are trying to be preppy and it makes me  too xoxox

I have to agree with everyone here.

Von dutch/trucker hats, uggs, layered polos with the collars up.

And I'm not sure if this was really a trend but at leas here in san francisco, I saw a big surge in people carrying fake designer bags or lookalike mall brand copies. I got sick of that too.
