Vandemast Model Management's very own Ymre Stiekema was probably the fashion circus' most-buzzed Dutchwoman going from test shootings straight to exclusive contracts in 2008. But since school had been an absolute priority for Ymre and her commitment for modeling abated during the past seasons, the model spotting scene was impatiently waiting and seeking for a sign of the ethereal Miss.
This particular silence made everyone eager for more and totally set the right mood for the Ymre's vehement storm which just approached a few days ago, bigger and mightier than ever expected: Dominating the recent Vogue Germany issue with two editorials, one of them styled by Pat Mcgrath, the other one shot by Alexi Lubomirski and further major only-girl publications in March US Harper's Bazzar and POP Magazine's Spring 2011 issue do absolutely demonstrate that the industry is not willing to move on without Ymre.
While her fellows are out and about at all those shows in Europe at present, Ymre just landed in New York and DNA was kind enough to provide a batch of freshly-taken Polaroids.
Isn't it elusive how Ymre manages to look so regal and untouchable in those shots, almost like a 80s supermodel? Her self-assuredness and brilliance in front of the camera will in all probability keep up the storm for a very long time...

its so annoying to read the same comments over and over again. its a clear and smart management decision. if u look at the pictures posted above your commet u will find an aswer. yes she is beautiful there is no doubt about it but for shows its not enough there is another criterium.
the point for a girl that wants to make a comeback is not to book any shows but to book the good ones and for that u have be ale to compete with the rest of the girls out there.
i am sure she could make it back to the runways once she is ready but no point to burn her potential when she is not...

I disagree with you. From what i've heard something happened in the last season she walked and she never showed up the runway in NY, Milan or Paris since and also hasn't been booked for a single campaign. Ofcourse she had to finsih high school, but a dozen other models also.
She is doing some commercial jobs in NL which a model like Nimue Smit (same season started, same age etc.) would defo say NO to.
I think not to walk is fully her decision. She also didn't go to castings. I mean she could do A castings and if she not get booked then wait for a season. I do think she must do some shows to let designers see her pretty face again, it's not like she is Lara Stone or Freja Beha. Anyway, let's wait for some pictures like those from Numéro. And fingers crossed for a amazing comeback.

What you're saying Forrest doesn't collide with what John Black said. Ymre confessed she had been disappointed with her international agencies but if her absence was only an agency issue then it would no longer be a problem in Paris since she moved to Viva Paris a few months ago. Yet she still didn't walk in Paris.
Ymre seems to be a girl who really enjoy modelling. I'm not saying her choices are always the best career-wise (the prestigious editorial jobs she allegedly turned off) but considering the number of times she mentionned Doutzen Kroes she wants to be a top model. The red carpet things she's been doing recently, her participation to TV shows and even the commercial jobs are in my opinion a way to stay somehow relevant and to gain some kind of fame and money until she walks big shows ang graces campaigns.
John Black only said what nobody else dared to comment because of the community rules. So far Ymre doesn't fit the criterias expected by the designers. You can't just go to castings to give it a try, what you need is to make an impression on casting directors. It would be a waste to make the runway comeback of a promising model happen when the model doesn't fit the current high fashion standards.
