So I fell in love with the Todd Reed jewelry posted here and on his website, and went to the American Craft Council show in San Francisco this past weekend to see it in person. I was absolutely certain I was going to buy something. But...I found that I actually didn't like it as much in real life! I was so disappointed. The big pieces are still amazing, but the small ones (i.e. the ones I could afford) were kind of dull, like the diamonds didn't have the lustre that they have in the photos. I think in natural lighting conditions, it works better when there are several of the uncut diamonds clustered together and light can get at them - if there's just one in a bezel or a row in a channel, they don't get enough light passing through. A couple of other people there were saying the same thing. So I went away empty-handed and broken-hearted. :-(
