yeah, Hedi is one of my top 3 designers right now...if only the prices weren't that high...i mean considering the quality and detail of the clothes I'm not saying they should be on par with Urban Outfitters but maybe in the range of Helmut Lang prices and I'd be happy to snatch up one or two pieces each season. Right now they're just insane. Were the DH prices always this high? Or was it like LV in that it started off fairly reasonable and just slowly climbed its way up into oblivion?

I'm not sure about the prices, I'll ask around. I have seen a recent decline in Dior Homme because of their becoming more commercial. I've seen lots of things with the bee logo that I have been told weren't designed by Hedi, and they are very expensive, but probably poorer in quality. I think DH has exquisite details, though, I especially love his denim. That is my MUST buy for this year.

Thanks for the info.

I'm kinda tempted to buy one of those vintage looking polo shirts or t-shirts next summer when the S/S stuff goes on sale...i saw a few from the runway pics that I liked. But I don't know if it's worth it, as those are pieces that can be duplicated at thrift stores.

I wouldn't pay $175 for one of the vintage t's.
I saw some of them on luisa via roma and wasn't impressed.
They are not heavily distressing the shirts or polos, that was only for the show.

actually, I believe thier trying to lower the prices for dior homme.
I think they had some awesomely expensive pieces in the earlier collections.

Seeing as the usd is really weak atm the prices might stand still in the US while they might be a little lower in Europe.

Seems theyre trying to make the brand more available and less exclusive and trying to find a golden middleway. But some people have said that the quality isn't as good as before..figures.

As always the signature pieces are *always* expensive :) Well enough off-topic..

Yes I am a fan of Dior homme to.. but what I have issues with is now they are trying to lower the prices(which I think is a good thing) BUT more accesible to the general public ie more pieces of the same style rather than just a few pieces(which I think is really bad!).

I also have seen several if not numerous items taht yu can tell is not designed by Hedi Slimane but a copy of his cut with just different style, pattern. That I hate as well.

Again, I agree that the signature pieces are expensive, but more and more I have found that Dior Homme's collection is now less about details but about image that it tries to convey. On top of that it just slap Hedi Slimane's name and have him appear at the end of show which may not necessarily design by him. Just take a look at Prada. As Hedi are now so pre-occupied with his art project, his personal line, and of course partying!

Overall I do still thing Dior Homme holds true for my fave menswear collection

Anywayz... off topic

I really like this stuff, and I'm not very familiar with any of the labels. I'll have to really check them out.

This is a great thread so far. My favorite collections have pretty much been posted, but I'll try to find some others I like and post them.

Tough question, three come to mind. Gucci f/w 02, so elegant and classic, love the colors. Gucci f/w 03, cool and young, so much that I'd wear and YSL f/w 02, I loved the trousers and the styling.

Luisa Via Roma? Where's that, Italy?

Still, $175 is better than this season's $320 striped t-shirt  Good to hear the prices are becoming somewhat more attainable.
