GREAT idea for a thread...im going to think about this and come back later, there are sooo many songs that go along with my life...hmm...

Your life's soundtrack

It can be anything.

From song that was playing during your first kiss to the song you playing in your head when you imagine your senior prom.

What songs mean the most to you?

im about 89% sure there is a thread on this already but...

right now its the new Girl Talk CD

 Thanks for this thread, m'dear! You're pure genius.

I made a playlist on iTunes the other day of all the songs that mean something to me.

If you have the patience, browse through it! ^_^
(And yes, they are ordered by significance!)

1. "Flake" by Jack Johnson - It was the song that came on when I realized I was in love with a certain boy. I still care about him very much, and this song helps me remember my summer love.

2. "Grey Street" by Dave Matthews Band - It's the lyrics that touch me: Oh, there's an emptiness inside her/and she'd do anything to fill it in/and though it's red blood bleeding from her now/it's more like cold blue ice in her heart ...

3. "Hallelujah" by Rufus Wainwright
4. "Every Breath You Take" by The Police
5. "Hold You in My Arms" by Ray LaMontagne
6. "Crazy" by Seal

7. "All the Same" by Sick Puppies - The lyrics to this song are absolutely fantastic: and I'll take you for who you are/if you take me for everything ...

8. "Asleep" by The Smiths - Such a sad, slow song that puts me to sleep quite often! ^_^

9. "Head Over Feet" by Alanis Morissette
10. "Sunshine" by Matt Costa

11. "9 Crimes" by Damien Rice - I remember when I couldn't decide to leave my job because the boy I loved worked there, but I needed to quit so I could earn a decent wage. And this song came on my iPod, and I fell in love with it. It makes me cry every time.

12. "Na na na (dulce niña)" by Los Kumbia Kings - It's catchy even for those who can't speak/understand Spanish!

13. "Oh" by Dave Matthews - I love you oh so well/like a kid loves candy and fresh snow ...

14. "Baby" by Dave Matthews - Baby, it's all right/stop you're crying now ...

15. "Supermassive Blackhole" by Muse :mohawk:

16. "Holland 1945" by Neutral Milk Hotel
17. "Quelqu'un M'a Dit" by Carla Bruni
18. "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam
19. "Better" by Regina Spektor
20. "Speeding Cars" by Imogen Heap

(I hope this is the right thread for this )

My life needs a soundtrack...

Hey music-addicted people. have you had this thought before? "where is the music??damn..." in the right situation there should be music. i think so.
while kissing your friend..
after the relationship with your boy/girl friend ends (there could be "hallelujah from rufus wainwraight...:cry:)
when you run through the first sunlight...
when you see your dreamman/woman...

so my question to you is, in which situation or after which happening is music right.. and which song should it be?
happy posting:blush:

I'm constantly thinking of this throughout the day, an it makes me understand why some people simply can't be without their iPods 24/7  there's something magical about accompanying daily life with beautiful music! Makes the dullness of every day seem more bearable, I guess :P

For me, the moments I feel like my life is most in need of a soundtrack is when I'm walking. It could be anywhere, in the forest on a sunny day or in the city with billions of clouds overhead. Right now, the only thing that comes to my head is Belle and Sebastian's Boy With the Arab Strap...it might not be my favorite album, but it sure makes daily life seem charged with all the whimsical and introspective moments that any movie I'd like would have

The soundtrack to your life

Does anyone else have songs they didnt necessarily like at the time they were released, but because they played so often at a certain time they gained significance and sort of became part of you, so now when you hear them again you feel a pull? Almost as though if your life was a film that would have been part of the soundtrack...or sometimes songs are linked to people, so when you hear them you think of the person who introduced you to them?

For instance, James Blunt's You're beautiful was at the top of the charts in the UK for a lot of summer 2005, and every time I hear it I want to cry because 2005 was the year my brother died and the year I embarked upon my first relationship.

When the song came out in July (I think) it was everywhere, and I was desperately happy, spending lots of time with my boyfriend, acting like I had basically discovered love. I was working in a bar in the evenings and that song was played over and over, and I remember going lothes shopping and buying a hat and hearing it playing in the store, it seemed to follow me everywhere. That August I went on holiday with my boyfriend, and everything was idyllic untilI had my bag with all my tickets stolen. My parents had to pay for my tickets home and when I arrived back I was so knackered that we drove straight back to our house, going past my brother's place on our way. The same day we got a phonecall to say he had been found dead. He had had a sudden haemmorage....and all I remember is being so young and listening to James Blunt and getting drunk on cheap vodka.

I later broke up with the boyfriend. He didn't understand. Anything. But he was young too.

Anyone else have songs like that?
