Your Runway Soundtrack

I'd put the Red Hot Club de France down the YSL cat walk. Hardcore.

on my runway.........

reflekt- need to feel loved......mixed going into audio bully's- bang bang

Bjork-Hunter
Dead Kennedys- California Uber Alas
Kate Bush- Runing Up That Hill
X- Sugar Light
Ellen Alien - True
Patrick Wolf- Paris
CocoRosie-Candyland

would depend on show. I would want music thats catchy with a good bet, so when people heard it they would think of my collection

Provided the show was quite edgy and modern (think Dior) I think:
Mousse T - Is it cos i'm cool
works really well, but they'd have to get it right otherwise it'd just end up being tacky.

Then:
Smoke City - Underwater Love
Portishead - Glorybox

and I'd be tempted to add something by Garbage too.

It would depend entirely on the mood and it would be a good mix of different things.

These I think would make great background tunes for presentations:

Any Goldfrapp tune from Felt Mountain and the "Lovely Head (Staré Mesto)remix and some of the more melodic tracks from Black Cherry and their B-sides..."Deep Honey","Hairy Trees","Gone to Earth","White Soft Rope",Big Black Cloud,Little White Lie"
Oompah music
Françoise Hardy's "Mon Amie La Rose" & "La Question"
Cocteau Twins' "Ivo","Persephone" or "Carolyn's Fingers" from Blue Bell Knoll
Bernhard Hermann scores for Hitchcock
Nino Rota
Morricone
Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" & "Cloudbusting"....maybe "Waking the Witch" as well.
Depeche Mode "Halo"

Many more but will leave it at that...

awesome playlists:flower:

morricone:heart: scott, oompah music? like charlie and the chocolate factory?

very nice :D how would to models be styled for that particular part? blinding white stitched jumpsuits? helmet hair?..i can see boots with rounded toes and lots and lots of laces running up all the sides...made out of hemp and looking like a crazy nest. and the fingernails and lips pale grey green. i also see an accordian fold either in coming out under the arms and thick leather straps.

Great topic.
I'd go for a hip/hop theme:
Beautiful-Snoop Dogg.Feat Pharrel
Milkshake-Kelis
Gun and Roses-Jay Z
Truth or Dare-NERD. Feat Kelis
Let me Blow your mind-Eve.Feat Gwen Stefani

I'd go for music that creates a very surreal feel.
So lots of trance and bass...
Floaty dresses, bright outrageous makeup...hmm

1. Amazing - Andy Hunter
2. Waiting For A Star To Fall - Sunset Strippers
3. Crazy Sexy Marvellous - Paffendorf
4. Surrender - Nick Skitz
5. The Summer Is Coming - Nick Skitz
6. Show Me A Sign - Kontakt
7. Insomnia - Makina
8. Love Is Gonna Save Us - Benny Benassi
9. Never Look Back - Tiesto
10. Dark Beat - Oscar G and Ralph Falcon
11. Alone - Ian Van Dahl

Not neccesarily in that order though!

our latest 'show-installation' opened-and ended- with 'all tomorrow's partys' see Nico >the velvet underground the banana cd.

in between this, we played just plain sounds, eg. rain, airport arrivals/departures, party sounds like background noise.. things like that
installation lasted for 45 minutes, models were standing still on a pondium,
wasnt too bad actually

How long is the music supposed to be, circa 20 minutes? In that case I say Ravel's Bolero, ends the show in a big bang!

:woot:

i like the idea of using one song only -- if it small collection mews comforting sounds could work, that is like 12-13 minutes je croix

Your Runway Soundtrack?

What songs would u put for ur runway if you were to have a show?

I would pick these few songs

1. Get Me Off (from: Get the Lead Out: the Best of Superchumbo)
2. Beleive- Chemical Brothers
3. Double Dostiev- Zongamin
4. Astroglide- Motion Worker
5. Wonderland- Psychadelic Waltons
6. Drop Some Drumbs- Love Tattoo

yeah thats about right.

(subject to change, mabey)

I was working on one with a friend, so we're looking at mixing all sorts of heavy metal songs into a instrumental mix that will be choreographed and includes sounds bites from old horror films. Should be fun and different. Bands looked at: Fera Factory, Slayer, White Zombie, deftones and Sepultura. I'm trying to throw some trip hop in, should be a little weird to mix.
