Zambesi S/S 09 New Zealand

Mullet recently posted a fellow New Zealand collection and it reminded me to post Zambesi's latest!. (thanks Mullet)
...Zambesi has been a bit hit and miss lately..i was pretty disappointed with the s/s08 show but i like this one much more..

i have a soft spot for Zambesi...i think they are really intelligent, interesting clothes with a purpose...even when they're not executed particularly well, i always admire the intention. and when i go into the shop i find i'm usually 'oohing' and 'aaahing' over most things...

i like this collection...i think it's solid.. there are a nice assortment of little summer dresses and i'm always a sucker for gumboots. i like that it's gone back to the minimalism of past collections but there's just enough detail to keep things interesting...i'd happily wear a lot of this..

this is a bit all over the place... lace and football jersies and leopard print... this collection leaves me a bit confused. i do usually like zambesi though, i think it might grow on me.

thanks for posting, adorefaith. I'm not entirely taken by this but I love what they've been doing.. the runway show they did look especially lovely in concept and I like several of the pieces shown in both presentations, especially the black tops with laces detailing. very pretty.

Some of it is a bit unfocused - confused even..
but the centered looks are rly quite lovely...
I think there are a lot of strong separates
& many of the dresses are perfect for every-day wear..

Yuck, its so lame. Everytime I walk past their shop in Auckland I throw up, the stuff is horrible. Their mens is ok though. very unoriginal and boring boring boring. Why are they showing here? Arent they Aussie?

Yeah I agree ... this collection needs some serious editing .. as well as some of the first pieces posted ... its ok .. if you like halfway

i know your comment about throwing up was not meant to be taken literally but honestly.. is it necessary. anyway, no they're not aussie... Elisabeth Findlay, the designer, is from new zealand...as is her partner Neville who she founded the label with.
