15 Questions with Zhao Lei

#1:
I started modelling because... in the beginning I just wanted to make money quickly to help ease the financial burden at home, and it was also anopportunity for me to travel. But I started to enjoy working in the industry. It has helped me appreciate myself better.

#2:
After modelling, I would… like to be doing something related to the industry, maybe something behind the scenes because I like it here.

#3:
Fashion to me is… what one should be wearing in this period of time.

#4:
When I was growing up, I wanted to… be in the armed forces, wearing camouflage uniforms and defending my family and country. I think most children at the time had a similar aspiration. (Laughs).

#5:
My ideal job is to be a… doctor. I like to be able to help others.

#6:
The most challenging Fashion Week was… my first trip abroad to the Milan Fashion Week. That’s because I didn’t know what was going on back then. (Laughs).

#7:
The most exotic location I’ve been to is… Uruguay. It took two days of travelling from Beijing, and another two days to return.

#8:
If I had all the money in the world I would… distribute it back to everyone, like giving a salary. By then, I would already be happy with life and I don’t need all the money. I don’t want to be hated by everyone.

#9:
If I had the chance to meet one person in the world it would be... someone who bullied me when I was young. I want to let him know that I am Zhao Lei.

#10:
When I am stressed… I’d want to be left alone or vent my anger with close friends.

#11:
The most outrageous prank I’ve pulled is… daring my friend to raise his hand at an auction. The auctioneer accepted his bid, and he ended up as the highest bidder.

#12:
The most outrageous designer is… Alexander McQueen.

#13:
The most important lesson I have learnt from my parents is… to be honest and trustworthy.

#14:
On my free time I enjoy… having a self-drive holiday, cycling, diving or practising martial arts.

#15:
A few people know that I love to… eat. I really need to control my appetite. (Laughs).
